The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission was established in 1929 as a constitutional body type and it operates under the Articles 315 to 323 of Part XIV of the Indian Constitution. Its head office is situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Accord to the

Indian Constitution Article 320, it gives consultations regarding the transfer, promotion, and appointment of the suitable candidates to the State Government posts. It also advises regarding the disciplinary actions dealing with the persons working or worked for the Government of the State.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has issued notifications for recruiting eligible candidates to the posts of Assistant Superintendent through Direct Recruitment. Please find detailed information regarding the vacancies below.

How to Apply TNPSC Recruitment 2019:

Eligible candidates must ensure that they possess the necessary qualifications and fulfil all the required criteria before applying for the posts.

Interested candidates must register their basic particulars through One-Time online Registration system available in the official website by paying a fee of Rs 150, which will be valid for a period of 5 years. Then, they can apply for the posts of their preference after reading the instructions carefully.

Essential Qualification

Assistant Superintendent of Approved Schools (Men’s Wing):

(a) A Master’s degree in Criminology or Forensic Science;

or

(b) B.A. degree in Psychology or in Philosophy with Psychology as one of the subjects of study.

And

Must be atleast 160 (One hundred and sixty) centimetres in height and 79 (seventy nine) centimetres round the chest on full expiration and must have chest expansion of atleast five centimetres. (For Men)

(b) Must be atleast 145 (One hundred and forty five) centimetres in height and 71 (seventy one) centimetres round the chest with an expansion of atleast two centimetres. (For Women)

Assistant Superintendent of Approved Schools (Women’s Wing)

(a) A Master’s degree in Criminology or Forensic Science; or (b) B.A. degree in Psychology or in Philosophy with Psychology as one of the subjects of study.

And

Must be atleast 145 (One hundred and forty five) centimetres in height and 71 (seventy one) centimetres round the chest with an expansion of atleast two centimetres.

Assistant Superintendent of Vigilance Institutions

(i) A Master’s degree in Criminology or Forensic Science; or (ii) B.A. degree in Psychology or in Philosophy with Psychology as one of the subjects of study.

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidates for all the posts would be made on the basis of the performance of the eligible candidates in the following:

(i) Written Examination and

(ii) Oral Test in the form of an interview

Age

Minimum: 18 years

Maximum: 30 years

Cut Off Date: 01.07.2019

Fee

Unreserved/OBC candidates: Rs 150

SC/ST/PwD candidates: Nil
