CDS II 2016 exam was conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), in 41 cities across the country yesterday, October 23, 2016. About 2.25 lakh candidates appeared for the CDS exam which is conducted twice a year.
In 2016, the English paper was very different for previous years. Questions on antonyms and synonyms which usually dominate the paper, were missing this year. About 19 questions were asked on spotting errors. Comprehension passages were short and similar to those asked in civil service exam conducted by UPSC. English paper was of two hours duration. The paper had a total of 120 questions for 100 marks.

In 2016, 413 vacancies have been notified in CDS II exam for entry in Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, Officers’ Training Academy (OTA), Chennai (Men and Women), Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, and Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. As per the tentative schedule, UPSC is expected to declare the results in January 2017.
