The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has successfully conducted the CDS (Combined Defence Services) 2 examination on September 8, 2019. The candidates appeared for the examination said that the questions asked in the examination were very difficult. The CDS examination comprises of 340 multiple choice questions across the subjects of General Knowledge, English language, and Mathematics.

The cut-off marks for the CDS 2 examination will be released along with the results of the written test by the Union Public service Commission (UPSC) online through their official website: upsc.gov.in. The cut off marks for the CDS examination will be decided based on many factors such as the number of vacancies, the number of candidates appeared, and the difficulty level of the paper.

The candidates aspiring for Officers Training Academy (OTA) has attended only for two papers, i.e., General Knowledge & English, however, the candidates aspiring for Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Indian Airforce Academy (IAA) has appeared for all the papers in the CDS 2 examination.

The candidates qualifying the CDS written examination will be eligible and called for an interview by the Service Selection Board (SSB) as a next round of the selection process. The candidates should score the sectional cut-off marks set by the UPSC. The qualifying marks for each section is of the CDS 2 examination is 20% of the total marks which means the candidates need to score at least 60% to qualify the written test. The expected cut-off marks for the CDS written test are as follows.

  • The expected cut off marks for Indian Military Academy is 125 to128.
  • The expected cut off marks for Indian Naval Academy is 118 to 120.
  • The expected cut off marks for Airforce Academy is 140 to 142.
  • The expected cut off marks for Officers Training Academy is 95 to 98.

UPSC CDS Exam 2019: How to check results and cut off marks online

The results of the CDS 2 examination 2019 are expected to release in the month of December 2019. The UPSC releases the results UPSC CDS 2019 online through their official website, and candidates can view and download their results. Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to check the results and cut-off marks.

Step 1: Visit the official website of the UPSC: upsc.gov.in

Step 2: On the home page, find and click on the link ‘CDS 2 2019 results’.

Step 3: The link will be redirected to a new webpage, enter the required details like the registration number, date of birth, etc.

Step 4: The UPSC CDS 2019 result will be displayed on the screen.

Step 5: Download and get a printout of the result for future use.

Candidates can follow the same steps to view the sectional cut off marks and the merit list when released online.
