WAT Practice Series: Topic of the Day

Dear Readers,

The Written
Ability Test (WAT) is an important component of the selection procedures of the
IIMs and other leading business schools in the country. Keeping in mind the
importance of the same, we at PagalGuy, will post one WAT topic every alternate
day. You have the chance to list out the points that are important for the
given topic. You can post these points in the comments section and, the
following day, we will provide you a list of points and tips for the given
essay topic.

Please keep in
mind:

·
Some institutes have replaced
the Group Discussion (GD) with WAT while some use both modes to assess
candidates. In certain B-schools, the same topics are given for both types of
tests.

·
The time limit also differs
from institute to institute. For example, while IIM-Kozhikode gives 45 minutes to
attempt the essay, IIM-Bangalore gives 30 minutes. IIM-Lucknow gives 15 minutes
and IIM-Ahmedabad provides merely 10 minutes.

·
The range of essay topics is a
diverse one (varying from fact-based socio-political topics to abstract ones).
We will cover the entire spectrum of topics in our WAT Practice Series.

Today’s topic is
“Of all the inventions and
discoveries in the world, which one would you have liked to do?”
(IIM
Ahmedabad, 2012 topic)

Do list out your
points for the given topic in the comments section below. Tomorrow, we will
provide you our list of points and tips for this topic.
