When The RBI Assistant Exam 2018-19 Is Going To Be Held?

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is one of the most important banks of India, which takes all the monetary related decisions for the country. Reserve Bank of India is established on 1 April 1935 under the act of Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. Headquarter of the RBI is located in Mumbai. It is a prestigious organization to work for. Reserve Bank of India has many departments. Every year, this organization invites applications to work for the Bank and hire applicants on the basis of their performance in the exam conducted by RBI itself. RBI assistant exam is one of these exams. RBI Assistant exam is conducted in three stages Preliminary, Mains and final interview. Candidates should qualify prelim to enter mains. The aggregate score of the mains and interview would be the final score of the candidate.

Important Dates

Once the notification of RBI Assistant Exam is released, candidates can apply for the exam on the official website of RBI. The prelim exam of RBI assistant exam will be conducted in December month 2018 and after the commencement of prelim exams results will be declared within 15-20 days. Qualified candidates can download their examination hall tickets for the mains. The whole process will take 8-10 months before the date of joining.

RBI exam pattern

RBI exam is conducted in three phases prelim, Mains, Language Proficiency test (LPT) and interview. All the questions will be of Multiple – Choice Questions (MCQ) type. Both exams have a different pattern. Following is the list of sections for each exam.

RBI Preliminary Exam

The prelim exam has three sections.

Mains exam has 2 more sections. Following is the list of sections of exams.

Candidates should be efficient in the local language of the state of work. If candidates fail to pass the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) exams, he/she will not be selected even if they score highest in the Preliminary and Mains exams. LPT is exam is qualifying in its nature.

All the questions will be of Multiple – Choice Question type.

Preliminary Exam

The total number of questions asked will be 200 and the weightage of each question will be one. All questions will be of MCQ type.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

Language Proficiency Test (LPT) tests the skills of candidates of the use of regional language. Candidates will be given a passage followed by a few questions. Candidates will have to read the passage and answer questions. Bank makes sure the proficiency of the language of the candidate in terms of reading, writing, understanding, and speaking.

Logical reasoning

Blood relations, analogy, coding-decoding, number series, assumption- conclusion, linear sitting arrangements 2D & 3D, circular sitting arrangement 2D & 3D, grid matrix arrangements, syllogisms, odd man out problem, pattern recognition, mathematical operations,  visual reasoning, binary logic, clocks and calendars, fact – interference – judgement, critical reasoning, selection and conditional, grouping and pattern, number series, letter series, symbol series, mixed series, symbol-based logic, sequential output, cryptarithmetic, true-false – not given type questions, data sufficiency, cubes and dice, directions, ordering and ranking, missing pattern, complex letter series, Venn diagrams, network problems, games and tournaments based questions, critical reasoning and inference.

Reading Comprehension and answering questions, antonyms, synonyms, Vocabulary, correct use of words, fill in blanks, Grammar, logical completion of ideas, cloze test, analogy-based vocabulary.
