Why you should be careful when Airtel Technician comes to your home

So I have been facing problem with my Airtel broadband connection for some time now. The connection used to get disconnected abruptly and the buck was was passed between their various departments gleefully.

In the last 9 days, I have been given various Service Requests for the same issue! Here are the details –

42576160 (16th Jan)

42707904 (20th Jan)

42822666 (24th Jan)

42829378 (24th Jan)

Seems like closing SRs is one of the KPIs and every vendor of theirs seems to be keen on doing this quickly.

So today morning, the technician visited my place and told me that the problem has been resolved. I told him I would like to observe this for 24 hours and only after that I can say if my problem is resolved.

So, this technician calls up their customer care, impersonates me (acts as Rohit Awasthi) and informs them that the problem has been resolved. Right in front of me!

This is where my big concern lies. One is miscommunicating and second is impersonating me. I had a conversation with one of their seniors and this seems like a common practice. As far as I know, impersonating anyone is an offence.

Be careful about this in future.
