It's been about 4 months since we launched Channels. What has been your experience? And how can we make it better for everyone?
Ok. Let me kick off this thread with a few suggestions.
1). Low participation in terms of numbers. Or maybe there are less number of quality articles getting recommended. I feel PG has to work out some sort of a plan to move past this. Maybe a competition or two. Or probably starting Curated channels, where you can suggest what people can write about. It can be monitored by PG edit team, or volunteers. You can use videos to make suggestions, like discussing specific topics, giving suggestions about probable topics, recommending books to review, music bands to follow, movies to watch, or the more conventional; GD topics to look out for!
2). The interface has outgrown the traffic. There was a time when I would go to the latest tab, and read each article that was published. Not so much now.
My suggestion would be sorting on basis of readership, ranking the best articles for more viewership. also, the current interface is very confusing. Needs to be worked upon. maybe a more 'Buzzfeed' like interface?

Ignore the top Bar of photos. I am talking about the tiles.many people tend to put inferior photos as cover images. While recommending their work, you may drop them a PM suggesting a new photo. If that is too much work, I am willing to help out!"Also, Plan for a competition, along the lines of the B-School photo competition. That always manages to bring in quality entries... I remember other caption competitions, and also comic competitions run by @chuck_gopal
