Hey what is the cut off in SNAP to get a call from SIMC?
Hi can u please tell me what is the average salary of simc graduates.what are the career opportunities after AUDIO-VISUAL or JOURNALISM course.It was written that students applying this yr to simc will have to appear for some extra test.can u please enlighten us on this and what are the expected cut offs for simc this yr.thanks dude

the overall cutoff last yr was about 50. but u need to have a good score for english and general knowledge. last yr it was 15+ for these section..

salary bit is easy... altough i do not have exact figures but the initial salary will vary according to the specialisations. PR ppl get the highest, followed by adv, and then journo and a/v.
but don loose ur hope, every one grows very fast in the industry (if u r good). AV ppl going in animation really make a bundle..
and journalism is pickin up. now both print and electronic media pays equally.
remember one thing, ur salary will differ on the job profile, some have high start and steady growth, others have modest beginnings but faster rate of growth.
ill get back to ya abt the extra tests.

well we leave for footprints this monday..
well.. journo avg salary might be for 10k.(thts the last updated info) but changes every yr depending on media industry.. usually u start making a lotta money by end of one yr of ur job...
do join us for footprints in november... we gonna hold it in delhi, guwahati, kolkata, mumbai, chennai, bangalore, lucknow and ahemadabad this time..

can u tell me the xct cutoff for both the courses of SIMC???? Im horrible at quant, so will thata b a major hurdle???? im xtremely interested in mass comm nd hav gt published 2or 3 articles in hindu and HT. so does that giv me an edge?????
and also tell me where r the chances of getting a call more in either of the two courses???

for SIMC they mainly look @ Verbal score.I forgot d last yr cutoff.But it is sure that one has to do well in verbal.

And abt your publicationzz, it will help you alot @ d time of Interiew becos you know in indian system one has to clear the written test-->GD.After that they look @ your stuffz.Your chances of getting into SIMC is more becos SIMC mailnly look for d ppl who hv bent of mind for mass media.So try to get thru written test.

hey i attended footprints seminar in 2004 in ahmdbad..the topic was "from folk media to coke media"..twas gud watever lil i attended..he he..
and of course there was free lunch too!!!
