XAT and XLRI[2010-2012]-Official thread for queries

puys, now XAT is on 3rd JAN 2010 and everyone wants to get into XLRI though its a tentative date but we cant stop ourselves to discuss about XAT and XLRI admissions .so lets discuss all the XLRI related and xat related prep queries and form fill…

hey ... thanks for starting this thread ... now i will ask seniors to come answer all our queries regarding XAT , XLRI and colleges belonging to it ....
!) As per last year examination what is the range ( minimum and maximum in open category ) of marks that were given call for XLRI , XIMB , SPjain( profile based i know but still the range) GIM and LIBA.
2) How many of these college consider sectionals and which one consider overall ...

there is sectional cut off for XIMB
this year it was 96.53 for PGDM with sectionals above 80-82 in all sections
for rural management it is 75.XX and sectional above 53

Thanx for starting this thread man......Prep is goin on but i have a feeling that the English part is pretty tough.....working on it.....but any suggestions to crack this part??

Are there any industry sponsored seats in XLRI or for that case in any other good college..??

hi gauraw,
yup,english part is pretty tough in XAT but manageable if you have prepared well for CAT.so dont worry about that too much.

1.you need to get 30 percent of the toatal marks to get an assured call from the above mentioned institutes with a decent sectional cutoffs.
2.most of the consider sectional cut offs.

In an exclusive interview with a popular website , the admission authority of XLRI Jamshedpur has confirmed that XAT entrance exam will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2010. XLRI also confirmed that the test will remain a pencil-paper test.

Exam Date : Sunday, January 3, 2010.

Going online for the 2010 entrance exam? No, XAT will be a paper-pencil format entrance exam only.
Application fee : application fee for XAT 2010 will be the same as last year, Rs. 800.
ADMISSION Process begins from : Tuesday, September 1, 2009.

though i am not the right person to say anything about that but yes,for BM-overall 98.5 and for PMIR anything above 97.5 is fine.cant say much about sectional but you have to get above 90.00 in each to be on a safer side.

i think it went a bit higher !!

we shall check it out and post the confirmed cut offs !!!

or might be senior helps us out regarding the exact cut offs of getting a call and minimum score at which the call got converted!!!

Topics cannot be predicted. this year it was related to capitalism and socialism. last year it was something like"gender inequality leading to third world war". just be updated. good writing skills will take you through. but before that its the XAT score that matters.
