IELTS 2022 Exam Date
IELTS exam dates are available all around the year, you need to choose the date as per your application deadline. Over 9,000 organizations across the globe accept IELTS scores. Candidates can book IELTS exam dates easily by paying a fee of INR 14700 for both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training.
From 25th July 2022, candidate can book IELTS exam dates in India only through IDP. British Council will no longer deliver IELTS test dates for candidates in India. For Paper delivered IELTS or Computer delivered IELTS, it is only through IDP candidates can book IELTS Exam dates.

Each university has a different set of eligibility criteria to select prominent candidates for admissions. IELTS eligibility criteria are different for universities across the world. Before enrolling, candidates must know the class profile of the previous batch to understand the minimum IELTS score required for admissions.
Mostly 5 countries take IELTS Eligibility criteria for Academic and Immigration purposes. The average overall band score varies from 6-7.5 out of a scale of 9. Most academic institutions take higher scores for IELTS. The score band for those who wish to travel to English-speaking nations for employment purposes is less than the score band for those who pursue higher education. With available data of 2018, Australia makes an increase of 52.89% in Indian student visas (both higher education and vocational education). It is analyzed due to financial growth, Australia accepts a higher number of students in the country. Same with migration statistics available for the UK. Visa granted for Indian nationalities has an increase of 40%. Compared with the last 3 years, the number has doubled. Therefore, candidates wishing to study abroad have to score better in IELTS as compared to those who wish to pursue employment opportunities.
IELTS 2022 Registration
Last year, IELTS registration can be easily completed within three steps – creating an account in the British Council or IDP, finding the availability of IELTS test dates and selecting the nearest test center, and paying the fee. IELTS exam registration can be attempted through online and offline methods by paying a fee of Rs. 14,000.
There is a total of 48 IELTS Exam dates around the year. Documents required for IELTS registration are a passport or other National Identity Proof. IELTS paper-based exam has been conducted in the month of March.
IELTS registration is conducted through British Council and IDP. The IELTS registration can be done in two ways: Online and Offline. Candidates can take IELTS 4 times a month that adds to 48 fixed dates every year. IELTS can be rescheduled and retaken as well, though the complete fee of Rs. 14,000 needs to be paid for the second factor.
- IELTS exam fee varies across countries. In India, the exam fee is INR 14,000.
- Candidates can register for the IELTS exam via online or offline modes.
- IELTS can be taken either in a paper-delivered format or IELTS computer-delivered format.
- Candidates can book their tests even 24 hours prior to the exam but in that case, the candidate may have the possibility of not getting the preferred slot of the day

IELTS Online Registration
Most of the candidates opt for online registration since it consumes less time to just follow three steps: Registering, selecting the preferred date and location, and ultimately paying the fee.
Step 1: Filling Basic Details
The first step of the IELTS application involves the selection of country, disability arrangement requirement, and month. The candidate has to select a date and country and module (Academic or General Training).
Step 2: Registering
Candidates will come across the registration box where they need to fill in the mandatory details like email id, date of birth, and name.
Step: 3: Uploading ID Proof
The next step will require the candidate to upload the required document – Passport.
Step 4: Filling Information about Nationality, Education, Occupation

In this step, candidates need to review the details one last time before finally making the IELTS fee payment. They will confirm the IELTS test date, center, module, and city.

IELTS Indicator Registration
The IELTS Indicator is a product of the conducting bodies of IELTS that enables at-home exams during the pandemic. The process to register for the IELTS indicator is simple and very similar to the regular IELTS exam. Below are the steps to register for IELTS Indicator:

IELTS Writing Syllabus
IELTS writing syllabus is different for IELTS academic and IELTS general training. IELTS writing task 1 requires candidates to write a 150-word letter or summary within 20 minutes. IELTS writing task 2 requires candidates to write a response of 250 words in the form of an essay within 40 minutes. IELTS writing task 2 carries more weightage when compared to IELTS writing task 1. Organiser will release the IELTS admit card 2022 at official site. Candidates will be able to download their IELTS admit card 2022 by logging in to the candidate portal using registration number, date of birth and mobile number.
Candidates registered for IELTS exam have to carry their admit card on the date of exam for identification. The hall tickets are different for both attempts of IELTS 2022. Details regarding the allotted IELTS exam centre 2022 will be available in the IELTS hall ticket 2022.
Organiser will release IELTS admit card 2022 tentatively in third week of August. IELTS 2022 admit card will be available online on the IELTS 2022 official website. IELTS hall ticket 2022 release date has not been announced but it is expected to be available tentatively in third week of August. For IELTS 2022 admit card download, candidates will be required to login on the official website using their application number and password.
How to Download IELTS Admit Card 2022?
IELTS Admit Card 2022 is issued by the exam conducting authority, which is IIT Kharagpur for 2022 and is available for download at official site. All applicants can follow these steps to download their admit card:
- Step 1: Visit the official website
- Step 2: Enter your IELTS Enrollment ID and Password and click Submit.
- Step 3: Then you will be redirected to the new window. There you have to click on the link “Download IELTS Admit Card 2022”
- Step 4: Download and take a coloured printout of the document

IELTS 2022 Result

Students can view the result of the computer-based IELTS test within 5 to 7 days of the test. IELTS scorecard will be delivered through postal mail at the address provided by the candidate during the online registration.
IELTS Test report form is a paper- a copy of the result of the IELTS. Students receive the IELTS result after 13 days of the exam. Test takers can collect the result themselves from the test centers or can receive it via post. IELTS results will not be disclosed on the phone or by mail. There is no minimum marking criteria in the examination.
How long IELTS scores are valid?
IELTS score validity is for a time period of two years – it means after 2 years, IELTS scores cannot be used as valid proof of English language proficiency. So, within IELTS test score validity, it needs to be user sent to universities. Also, there is no restriction on the number of times you can appear for the test. You can book the slot whenever you feel like you are ready for the test by following the specific IELTS exam dates.
How to Send IELTS scores to Universities
Students can send a copy of the IELTS result to five universities free of cost. To send it to more universities, an extra fee will be charged. The students who give computer-based IELTS can view their IELTS results on the official website. IELTS result is available to them after 5 to 7 days of giving the examination. Institutions always require the original copy of the IELTS TRF. These original copies can be sent to the Universities only via British Council. Applicants are required to update and clearly mention the names of Universities while applying or registering for IELTS. Candidates should clearly mention the complete address of the Universities they want the British Council to send their Test report. At once, British Council can send the TRF to only five Universities.
If you wish to send it to more Universities, you are required to pay an extra fee for that. If a candidate wants to send IELTS TRF to any other known organization along with the five Universities, he/ she is required to attach a copy of their passport with it along with the Demand Draft and send it to British Council’s Gurgaon Office. Applicants will be charged another INR 1250 for an additional University. It will take 4 days for the delivery. The universities that have subscribed to electronic downloads of scores will be sent the results electronically. This will charge an additional INR 250 per University.
How to Check IELTS Result?
In order to check the IELTS paper-based test result, candidates can visit the test center and get a copy of their results. Remember, you will get only one copy of the result, so keep it safely in a secured place. Students can visit the following test centers:

IELTS Cutoff
IELTS Cutoff generally ranges from 7 to 8 for the top universities. Universities have a pre-determined sectional cutoff for each of the sections of the IELTS syllabus. Harvard, Stanford, MIT, California Institute of Technology and the other top-ranking universities across the world require IELTS score above 7. IELTS cutoff varies on the basis of the applied program at specific institutions.
