The application for the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF) for December 2019 has been invited by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD). Candidates who are eligible must apply for the same through the official website.

Candidates getting selected will get a scholarship of Rs. 70000 per month for a period of two years. Then Rs. 75000 per month in the third year, Rs. 80000 per month in the fourth and fifth year, respectively.

Along with the fellowship amount, candidates will also get Rs. 2 lakhs each year for a period of 5 years for their educational expenses and also to take up their foreign and national travel expenses for attaining the conferences.

Through PMRF scheme, candidates can take admission for the PhD programmes in Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Institutes of Science Education & Research (IISERs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and NIRF top 100 Central universities provided the research, as per MHRD, must be focussing on national priorities and also should be in science and technology domains.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have completed or pursued the final year of four (or five) year undergraduate or
  • Five-year integrated M. Tech or
  • Five-year integrated MSc or
  • Two-year MSc or
  • Five-year undergraduate-postgraduate dual degree programs.

The above courses must be in science and technology streams with 8 CGPA. Candidates who have cleared GATE can also apply through www.pmrf.in . Candidates must submit their research abstract, problem and approach during the submission of the application form.

The selection of the candidates will be made through the written test and the interview.
