GD-PI experience
Reached venue at 8.30 hrs on 23 Apr,2010. Was waiting for long for anything to happen. Finally came a call for certificate verification. Then called for GD. Easiest topic. Cricket is a religion or a sport. Remained calm for too long for storm to settle. GD was very noisy and ppl cutting others points and selling them as their own. I chipped in later and completed the topic. Hope it has some effect . And we completed 3 min before it shud end. Then asked to summarise in a paper for 5 min. Then came the call for PI.
Me; Dir-Director, BIM; Mar-marketing prof; Ol-old man; Plc- Placement chairman
Dir-U read Thermodynamics etc. Tell how many laws of thermodynamics .Ans 3. Tell me the zeroth law. Sir not in touch
Dir-Which papers u read. TOI, ET, Hindu
Dir-What do u knw abt CK Prahalad. Answered the book name as Future of bottom of pyramid 😛 Gave some gyaan on bottom of pyramid ,core competency, co creation theories
Dir- Do u knw wats written below the book 'fortune of bottom of pyramid'. Blank
Plc- So u interested in marketing. Tell me abt 4 brands, manufacturers. Ans and said I did branding events, analytics case stiudy etc. in college
Ol- Tell me abt ur marketing project. I explained my case study on credit card portfolios. Attrition, business value corrosion, analytics 4 decision mgmt
Mar- Do u knw mfg of dettol soap. Don't know. Arogya milk, arun icecream, Onida. Don't knw none of them. WTF. Tell us how ull improve brand of product. Explained sales improvement, brand awareness with dettol, bose speakers as e.g. Seemed satisfied.
Mar- What is motivation. I gav a vague answer. He actually asked abt theory of motivation. Said I dint study dt in principles of mgmt but Scientific Theory, Mayo's theory. And was askd to explain Mayo's theory. Wat else u studied in dat course. Accounting and said abt my interest in stock market. Wat is sensex, nifty. Answered it s benchmark based on market capitalization. Which s the biggest stock exchange. Answered NASDAQ (wrong per se) what is the full form of NASDAQ. Blank (Seriously ? this?)
Plc- Wats d status of women reservation bill. Passed in RS yet to b in LS.
Dir- Shud dat be passed to state assemblies. I said no but was not sure. Then have to assert definitely not.
