This may sound far fetched, yet I thought it's better to clarify. Can any one tell me if the waitlists are prepared quota wise....as in OC, BC, MBC...? or is it one list with all of them put together? I thought about this as I did not see any repetition of wait-list numbers i.e no two 14s or no tw 43s!
My doubt was reinforced when I read in a previous post that the waiting list for Tn BC is going till 60 while the seats are somewhere below thirty! Could they have 60 wait-listed candidates even after offering provisional admission to the reserved seats???

I just checked out the forum..u guys seem to have got the waiting list numbers..am from the open category non-tamil, and my result page is sayin that am in waiting list, no number mentioned...any idea what to make out of it?!?!!?

There are 38 seats for gen category.. I am waitlisted at 29 behind you.. According to last year thread that I hav seen myself , the W/L for OC moved up to 73.. The guy himself posted this fact.... So You have a bright chance... Hope we will meet at BIM...

as far as i have heard there are 28-30 seats for tamil nadu quota.. and the others are for others.. my perception is tat even the rest 90 seats should have been split into oc and sc category (that is oc and other state sc category)... these are only my assumptions. hope others would throw some light on it.

Ohh god.. just 38 seats out of 120 for general..!!! Dats unkirkirble... !! Den how do dey manage to keep up with other colleges.. for eg tapmi wer all da 120 seats r for general quota..!!

nobody knows about the seat split-up for BIM.even i asked the same to one of the seniors.... he contacted the professor and said that they wont divulge that info....
all we know as of now,from admission office is 100 OC students are waitlisted and 60 BC students are waitlisted....

stop speculating... it ll confuse everybody.....

I just called the BIM admission office and enquired the same.The guy who took the phone updated me that we will be receiving the detailed information both as hard copy to our home and via e-mail too.The dispatching process is in progress.:)

Going by his statement, the classes will be starting form the 1st week of july though we can confirm it only after receiving the letter from BIM.

Now waiting to inform my boss.!!!!

Plz my friend if it confuses u then dont visit this thread.... We can only speculate now in this thread untill the waitlist movement...Nothing else is in our hand.. Sharing information definitely helps some people to reduce their anxiety...

And whatever I hav posted is correct info regarding waitinglist movement last year, u can visit that thread...
Regarding seats for OC, I confirmed that from one of the seniors who came to IFMR, Chennai on the day of my interview... It wz around 38 last time, as the reservation proportions are same for this year so most probably it is same, or will differ my max of 2-3 seats...

how come speculation will reduce anxiety .isn't it supposed the other way around ? (with all such misleading n confusing info)
the senior told that they wouldn't tell the seat proportions after consulting with a prof !
waiting list is okay ..we all know it's avail in previous year thread.....

HI,

The waitlist are category wise only. In the spread sheet you can see Waitlist number 53 both under OC and BC categories. So dont confuse yourself . Just stay calm and hopeful. ATB
