my waitlist is 38. most probably i will be taking the loan. in the letter they say
on 10th evening they will disclose the first waitlist conversion and fee payment last date is 18th. i was wondering in a week's time how will i get the loan. i can apply for loan only when i hv a proof that i have converted rite?

Quite relievd.
was very apprhensive as SIBM convert is quite tricky
but they showed faith and confiodence in me and i am grateful for that.\
Next battle XL and if i dont make it there , well i m still happy two years in lavale hills , with my friends in pune wud be great.

PS- I have maintained a 100% interview conversion ratio (IMT -G and NMIMS-banking last year) which is surprising becoz i am usually the most under prepared candidates.
I have told interviewers that i have nt prepared naything , i dont rem my acads , and quite a lot of my answers end with i am unaware sir or i have no idea sir.
But they have nt rejected me which is well pleasantly surprising.
WL-6,almost in.
Snap 118.x(cutoff 118 ) and not so great PI+case(Read: very aggressive group using nonsensical stats and 100% tangential stuff in the discussion). GD was good. PI- I was sweating due to the sudden climate change in Pune+ upar neeche bhagduad and my panel thought I was nervous 😛 😉
Have to think a lot about the admission but very happy to have 'almost' converted my call.

Why is the college stressing for early admissions?? Many colleges have not even started their GDPIs including IIMs and IITs ??
Why is the induction fee of Rs 30000 non refundable when AICTE has clear cut rules that only 1000 rupees are to be deducted after cancellation of admission ?
Why the college wants the students to pay 375000 even before many colleges have not disclosed their results ?? Is it for the more bank interest before returns ??
I dont think this is ethical. Can the college authorities and student representatives reply to this query ??

guyz dont worry about waitlist right now (i know you think its easy for me to say as am already here)....
there will be a helluva lot of movement post april as the other results will be declared...
dont forget that everyone called must have some calls or the other (iims etc)...
so they will back out....
plus xl,fms,mdi,spjain folks will also leave...
last year post april.... it was like flies on a windshield at night...
ppl dropped out with the flick of a button....
so ya wait for loads of action to happen...
that much i can promise you....
even those who aren't in the initial waitlist....
there might be a second also...as was in the case of last yr...
so be hopeful guyz...
it aint over till the fat lady sings...

Don't take it you don't want it. Their college their wish, as simple as that. They have their own brand name to maintain. Why should they wait for all others to come up with the lists?

1. we are not stressing for early admissions...its just how our cycle goes...
its been the case over the past and not something which has been recently made up...
We need not follow how the IIM or IIT cycle goes as we are an independent entity.... its just how we operate..
2. the 30k that is non refundable is because it is for pre-induction material....
you will be sent material over courier including matter which needs to be gone through as it envisages the basics of management....
it generally makes your start at our institute smoother as you are familiar with certain basic knowledge...
also you will be made privy to online material with weekly tests and assignments just to keep you on your toes and make your transition into MBA education a smoother experience....
its all done for your well being and not for any ulterior motive.....
3. and about payment... its because of our cycle...
i was in your position last yr and we all asked the same ques and this is the exact reply that we got....
and even if you pay upfront early....it doesn't mean that sibm never returns your money....
you will be refunded the rest....
i understand where these queries are coming from as we had similar ones last yr.....
About being ethical...... well thats our personal opinions....
And am not justifying anyone here as am not college authority...
am an EX- MBA aspirant...
