Puys, I'm from ST Category... Waitlisted at #3... converted SIIB *didn't apply to SCMHRD* but last date of payment is 15th March while SIBM-P list will only come out on the 20th
I'm thinking of taking a risk and wait for SIBM... vacate my seat in SIIB and hope for SIBM. Is it a good risk?
This is giving me sleepless nights... I don't want to waste a year!

Waitlisted and would be joining in case of a convert 51 38.06%
Waistlisted but won't be joining even in case of a convert 15 11.19%
Seeing the poll above and considering my WL rank of 80.
If I assume the poll above is correct representative (which it most definitely is not):-
- 37 people wont join
- 15 people are WL bt wont join so if I assume 80% are ahead of me, here 12 will leave before I join
- Now 51 people want to join but are WL so if I assume 80% are ahead of me, so arnd 40 will join before me
- Now Since the no of ppl ahead of me and not taking the seat is more or less equal to the no of ppl ahead of me
So based on this incomplete data which may even be false and my over-optimistic attitude I might just convert on March 20
Also PS: I have been tracking the poll since the day of result itself and the movement has been more or less consistent

I just made the 1st installment payment.
For the benefit of all, I am writing down the procedure for the RTGS payment.
Documents to be carried :
1) 1 Cheque leaf.
2) Details of the beneficiary (as mentioned in the enclosure.)
3) Call letter from SIBM (not mandatory but you should carry it)
The bank will provide you a form to request for the RTGS payment.
Fill the form mentioning your name, account details and the beneficiary's account details. Cross check the beneficiary details-especially the beneficiary name, account number and the IFSC code.
Make sure that you tell the teller to enter your name and snap ID in the message/remarks column while making the transaction.
Give a cheque to the teller with the following details 'Pay : Yourself to RTGS, Amount : 3,75,000/-'
Get to know the RTGS/Transaction Reference No from the teller. (I did not receive any receipt for the payment made. You can ask for the same if your bank issues it.)
Transaction fees charged by the bank : 25 INR

It is the correct mail ID.
you will receive a mail by 4.P.M
If you dont call up the Admissions office and ask them to direct to accounts section.They will confirm the status.
And yes through online RTGS there is no box for remarks that could be passed on to the receipient but that is not an issue as such.

Well you can ask the same by taking to accounts section lady.
I think that will be an issue because they are looking for single transaction of 375K for easier tracking.
Why dont you transfer all of the amount to a bank account with onlineRTGS facility and make the payment then?

The problem is, i have no experience in finance as i am an engineer with an IT background in work ex
So is it necessary for me to do a course like CFA-1 before coming to sibm to get an internship in a good finance firm?
The current price for CFA is 75k which is just too much.
Do the finance firms select individuals who have no work ex in finance for internship?

It is of approximately 9 weeks (2 months)
It starts from the 1st week of April and finishes by 1st week of June..

Hi Mihir,
No there is absolutely no need to do a CFA for taking up Finance. Infact there are doctors and pharmacists in our fin batch.
Most of the batch has the same profile as yours; Eng+IT work ex . So you dont have to worry about CFA or any other certification. An MBA Finance degree is enough to get you a good job in any of the Financial companies that visit our campus.

No, you don't have to pay the fees.
You have to pay the fees if and when you get selected i.e clear the waitlist.
Seniors, Can you tell us from your past experience, till what number is the waitlist likely to get cleared on march 20? And what will be the last payment date for that?

I am waitlisted at no. 16 and I am hoping to convert in the 20th march merit list.
However, I have a convert in SCMHRD and I have to deposit the fee there before 20th March.
If I get selected in the 20th March list, I'll cancel my SCMHRD admission.
Can you please guide me if it is possible to transfer the money from one symbi college to another?
