Sorry guys, I was at my college so out of the action for so long. Just got off the phone with the admissions department guy at SIBM. The following is a confirmation:
The wait list WILL NOT be updated on the website. Selected candidates will be informed of their selection via BOTH e-mail and post. The time for receipt of e-mail is NOT confirmed, but we might receive it by today evening. Ensure that you check your spam folder too.
In view of this, all we can do is go back to waiting like the past 75 days. As soon as you get a mail, please, for the sake of others, update the same on PG. Also, mention your current wait list number, so we can know the movement status and maintain some level of transparency about the whole thing.
One possibility could be that there was a huge movement after the last waiting list (due to IIMs, XLRI results and increase in S. P. Jain intake.) So they don't want to embarrass themselves by reflecting this on their website, and thus have resorted to e-mails. Just a guess.....

I think its nothing to be embarrassed about. SIBM Pune is the flagship college of SIU and its still one of the best private college in India. Movement is a normal thing in terms of other colleges. Anyways if your guess is right then it will be good for us. Hope that we get our call letters and then meet in the college.

Yes, it is one of the best B-Schools. But you saw what happened after the landslide movement in NMIMS waitlist. People started asking all kinds of questions. Maybe SIBM wants to avoid such a scenario. Anyway, it was just a guess, and yes, let's hope that we get the call letters !! ATB everyone !!! 😃

Quite contrary to popular perception, a heavy wait-list movement does not indicate that a college is not top notch. If people leave colleges for IIMs/FMS/XLRI it means that the selection procedures have been very stringent and quality students have been admitted by the institute. So even the ones who stick back to SIBM would be people who narrowly missed other quality institutes. Just to give you an idea that heavy wait-list movements are quite normal among the top institutes:
IIM Shillong last year had a wait-list movement of 150 plus, for an intake of around 90.
Also, I know of a person who will be joining SIBM Pune irrespective of an IIM Ranchi convert.
