sauravsi was WL 8 after the movement on 26 April, and he converted yesterday. So we can be sure that there was a movement of (at least) 8 'places' yesterday.
AFAIK if two peple have same WL number, say 10, then the next person will have a WL 12, and not 11. So both with WL 10 get convert together, and then the turn of person with WL 12 will come.

I agree with this.

Also, did they say anything about when the next update will happen?
1. Whats the username and password for the Pre-Induction portal? 2. Are we sent study-materials to gain basic knowledge before course commences? If yes, are they sent to the postal address since my current address and my postal address are different.
Please throw some light seniors/members who have already got access to the knowledge portal or received study materials in case any sent.

And what happens if there is only one seat remaining and two people at the next position in the wait list. Do they toss a coin or have a tug of war between the candidates?

The username and password will be mailed to you by SIBM a couple of days after you pay the fees. Not very sure about the postal address thing, though. Yes, the course is for increasing your comfort level with the actual MBA coursework. But I guess we also have to answer some tests as a part of it, which might be evaluated as a part of our overall performance.
P.S. I haven't received any induction material yet... A recent convert just like you, but all this is the stuff I picked up over the past comments on this thread.

Well, actually nobody knows how they handle ties. Shourya said that it is the discretion of the admissions department. My guess is that they must be taking your 10th/12th/graduation performances into consideration. That info was never used by them in the process of our selection, except for establishing eligibility. Again, this is just a guess.

1) Once a candidate has converted the call and paid the fees, a mail is sent to the official mail ID provided which has the Pre-Induction user name and password. If it takes sometime, one may try calling up SIBM or the pre-induction mail IDs and state that the credentials haven't been received. They will help.
2) We're sent just one book, and it is sent to the present address and not permanent address (case with most students). Rest of the material is present online in the pre-induction portal itself. We will also be having lectures for these from June onwards, and the evaluation test will be sometime in July.
Can we expect further movement today? Admissions department had said that next movement would be on 5 May. (I'm trying to call them, but as usual, nobody is answering on any of the numbers.)
