The Commonwealth is a consortium of 53 states. The Headquarters of Commonwealth is at Marlborough House, London UK. Most of the members of the Commonwealth are countries which were under British rule.

The 23rd meeting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting(CHOGM) is to be held from Nov 10-17 2013 at Colombo, Srilanka. Mahindra Rajapakshe will be the Chairperson for this meeting. CHOGM takes place once in 2 years. The CHOGM for 2015 will be held at Port Louis, Mauritius

CHOGM took place in India in 1983 under the leadership of Indira Gandhi

Members of Commonwealth correspond to 15% of the World's GDP. Head of Commonwealth is Queen Elizabeth II
