@harshvardhan081 my confusion is between NM(core) n IMT(PGDM FT) not IB or CM
NM(Core) dude u cant be confused here NM Core is far better than IMT PGDM FT now

Can anyone please weigh my options and give me a clear conclusion without any biases ?
1.I have been selected as a Probationary Officer in a PSU bank.I am interested in Finance and I am planning for advanced certifications too.
2.I have been selected for NMIMS Capital Mkts.I heard people who are interested in Finance with considerable knowledge and certifications have good scope in this field.

Considering the above 2 points, tell me which one is better ? Please give your most sincere replies...

P.S : Fees,Location won't matter.

I ll say go for NM Capital Markets. You look like you are interested in Finance. PO jobs aren't best either, you might be posted to some obscure locations with 10 hr power cuts and senior clerks with 20 yr exp will scold you like your boss. It happens MOSTLY in PSU banks. If you are sure of getting better option next yr through CAT then you can take a chance.
P.S: Such things happen in PSU banks I have few examples, it doesnt mean it will happen in your case too but their is a good probability. ATB.

dude if u can shell out 16 lacs as u have said Fees dont matter then you can go for Capital Markets since u are a guy who is genuinely interested in finance so an MBA in Capital Markets will add value to your profile now the negative aspects
you may get a job as a manager in a PSU bank itself after your MBA as Banking sector also recruits a sizeable chunk of Capital Markets if you go by the placement report so since you have already cracked Bank PO then this can be a matter of concern
You can also get jobs in Consulting and Insurance Sectors in Private Equity,Wealth Management etc which are attractive profiles for a person who is interested in finance so its worth taking the risk considering you have that much of budget to invest.....

@Asadali you cant start a business without money and i dont think that you can run it without an MBA.and now i think i should go for DCP.
dude there u go wrong u dont need an MBA degree for being an entrepreneur its just a myth
i have friends who are successful entrepreneurs without any MBA degree but yeah an MBA degree does give you the knowledge which you can apply when u are building your organization but knowledge alone does not suffice business and networking skills are also very important to be an entrepreneur

okk guys i know cant use this forum to compare any colleges but still since lots of ppl have asked for advice I need some ppl advice here to be more sure.I have converted NMIMS Core,I also have calls from IIM Lucknow and IIM Indore though their results are not out yet.I am confused between IIM Indore and NMIMS since IIM Indore placements have gone down considerably I have first hand information that 150 students are unplaced there which is a huge number for an IIM but still the brand name IIM is what wants me to go for Indore. My friends in IIM Calcutta said NMIMS Core today is a better option than IIM Indore but i seriously doubt this. Please help me in this regard

I would suggest that you confirm your seat at NMIMS Core first and wait for the IIM results. Who knows you might get 'L'ucky

p.s - Go for IIM-I if you have a great profile. For an average profile guy, NMIMS Core could turn out to be better

@Abhaysood is it true that students who take sabbatical from work are not allowed to sit in the placement process ,I have heard this from some sources
@pksingh3232 can you please elaborate more on this..this is the first time I am listening anything like this..How can taking sabbatical debar you from sitting in placement processes..please recheck your facts and don't spread such type of rumours..

thts what I want to verify i am not spreading any rumour here and if some senior can advice me regarding this it will be better

with @pksingh3232 seniors requested

@siddpandit @pksingh3232 : I think that is not the case , I think people who have taken sabbatical have been allowed to sit for summers in my batch ,so I guess they will be allowed for final placements too

Bro, see pls look beyond first placement. Personally I think IIM-Indore will be better than NM Core. I ll state my reasons:
1] You ll get better peer group then NM Core. The learning you ll get from your peers would be much better as the batch quality will be better than NM Core.
2] You ll atleast have a CHANCE to get into better companies. Since you have been called by IIM I this yr you must be having pretty decent profile. Unplaced students are their in almost every B-schools this yr even IIM B is left with 4 students at this moment. We are going through bad phase in economy and things will improve in 2 yrs time.
3] Looking beyond 1st placement, IIM-Indore reputation will help you more than NM reputation while looking for job change. (Even I have friends in IIM, and thats their point too.)
4] NM Core ROI is not too great either.
Anyways, all the best for results. :)
