You should call NM and ask them.. these moderators are students. They have said it many times that they are not authorized to reveal numbers. You should have asked for clarifications before paying those 1650 or 2000 to give the test or before you took the pains to go there and give the interview or when you were there and NM staff was there. At that time everyone is like " jo bhi mil jaye le lunga " and ones someone gets selected to sab BOND bante hain ..

and it is obvious that these new courses may not be having very good placements. One does not need to apply rocket science to realize this . It is very much understood.

@dark_knight09 : Bro, thats y I have written 3.5 - 4yrs..If with 25k you are repaying a loan every month without a raise, it'll take 6 yrs..I did a lot n lot of thinkin..U too think bout it..Pls lemme know if im wrong..We shouldn't be irresponsible taking such a big step in our life

I've personally spoken to seniors from NMIMS, and they are doing pretty well after getting placed. If you dont count the top IIMs,XL, FMS and a few other bschools, NMIMS is probably one of the best in terms of a host of factors.


I'm very excited about joining MBA Core, but as any pragmatic person would, I'll wait for SP Jain, MDI results before I decide where to go.

In any case, I'm depositing the fees. There is no point degrading a college's name inspite of the stellar reputation it has. If any college is good enough to be in the top 15 colleges in the country, there is a reason why its there.

There is no point debating about average packages offered till you are in your second year and actually sitting for placements. Till then, do we have any other option but to take the placement reports as authentic?

Everyone at NM wont be at GS, or JPMC but then, what makes the people kicking up a storm here believe that their placement is in the hands of the college and not their own hands?

NM will give you the opportunity to sit for companies. converting them is upto you.

Read few comments on this thread regarding everyone's concern over NM/other colleges and courses offered, avg package, fees etc etc.

So I am sharing my 2 cents on it.

Avg Package misguides a lot.
Avg salaries of focused MBAs do not show how market perceives the courses.

Its something unique that NM is trying to do here, and I am more than sure they do their best to make it a success.

Avg package of HR would probably be not as high as offers given to people perusing career in Sales or in Finance (just an example, no concrete data in hand)

Before picking any course, decide 10 yrs from now, do you really want to be in the sector you are choosing. If HR or Capital Market really is your calling, then package should not be an issue. with couple of job switches you shall earn as much as, if not more, than what the market pays for these profiles.

Avg is always skewed. Very very packages and very very low packages have a great impact on the figure.

My personal advice would be- If someone is getting into a better college, or has luxury to wait for another year and try for better college than NM, then s/he should.

If NM fits your bill, then go for it. I am sure its good.

For me I rate being in Mumbai really high, at least for keeping the hopes alive of starting my venture and building on it.
Hence NM and SPJain were equally important for me, after my PLAN A college.
Things didnt work out with Plan A and SPJain. I am equally happy with NM.

@Abhaysood can you let me know from where i can obtain a printable version of the fee breakup..someone had posted the fee breakup but it is not very clear..all banks demand this breakup..help in this regard is appreciated..

If u cant trust the college and the official placement report better not join the college.
NMIMS is not luring you, NMIMS didnt came to your home and asked you to fill the form or take admission.
As I said earlier Once you will join any B School Other than IIM A, B, C or XLRI you will realize that what kind of competition exists in placements and then you will be appreciate what i am saying. College will reveal the information as and when they find it suitable.
So its in interest of all the students who are my Batch mates and who want to join that we cant reveal what you people are asking for.
No further comments on that. Its your decision to join or not. NMIMS is not selling its course, in fact NMIMS doesnt need to sell its course. Period

How many colleges demand for money everytime they get hold of you? Which exam asks for money if you want to reschedule it? Which college calls people from Kashmir to Mumbai, and then charge a demand draft?

I don't know if its apparent to you, and all those who think they've accomplished something ground-shaking by getting admitted here. Asking aspirants to pay 16 lakhs in blind-faith or telling them to join IIM-A is right according to you? Is this what they taught you? Is this how you convince an investor? Would you buy an investment plan if banks started doing the same to you? The difference is that institutes like NMIMS have no one put show them their place. Whether I join NMIMS or IIM-A is my choice, but I have every right to demand information, whether you like it or not.

demanding information is correct. But maligning the name of the institute is not. Moreover when you were so uncomfortable paying the amount each time they demanded for it, why did you pay ? You could have easily left the process there itself. Why did you come this far? And when you say that people have not done any great thing or accomplished something big by converting the call think twice before you say this. You maybe very very intelligent, not all are and it is not less than an achievement or an accomplishment for many people including me. If you cant respect your achievement or other people's achievement, you probably cant respect anything in life. and i really wish you get into IIM A or for that matter any institute you wish to just for the fact that you will get to know what an achievement means to people. And as far as coming from kashmir to mumbai is concerned, dude its a college's policy and i wont comment on it. I too feel it could have been done in a better way but then thats their choice. I am just putting across my opinion. and next time please apply to only those colleges where you feel you would "accomplish" something by getting an admission and do a proper research of all the colleges and dont simply be a part of rat race- har exam dunga options open rakhunga and baad mein bura laga to college ki publicly izzat utaarne ki koshish karunga... no. you cant do that.. @dre Still a few questions are there in my mind. The fees of almost all the good B-Schools is 15lac or so. And we must admit it that one can expect 10-11 lac as starting package. As a result most of us will be under the same pressure of paying our education loan. Does it mean that doing MBA from all such schools is worth not doing or if one has to do it then places like FMS are the sole destination. Please don't take my questions in a negative way.I am in the same boat as you are and hence curious to know whatever I can.

i guess this whole mba thing is overhyped.

for starters, dont even expect packages more than 8 ... the figures of 10 , 15 that u see are more or less the ones which have high variables ... as in 8 basic + 5 variable (which depends on factors ur sure to loose out on). Not just wid NM but everywhere.

So heres the deal , gauge ur options , and then choose a college. paisa to bhai haath ki dhool hai ... aaj hai kal nahi ... sab upar wale ki den hai :)
