[2014-15] Ask ISB Hyderabad Admissions Director: The Official thread for PGP Admissions

Hi team ISB,

What is the average GMAT score expected from the students who are applying for
a) YLP
b) EEO

Is it the same 710-730, or will you give any consideration in the score for people with less experience?

Average is around 710 but this implies that there is a range of scores both above and below this number. We have no cutoff for GMAT and students who have joined in the past have had scores starting at 600. Please spend adequate attention on the rest of your application to ensure your strengths as a candidate come across clearly. Feel free to call us to discuss further.

Dear all,

My question is whether six years Clock Hour Lecturership (CHB Basis) or Lecturership on Contact Basis in reputed college is considered as full time work experience for taking admission in ISB?

Waiting for reply.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Team

Can you please evaluate my profile

10th : 76

12th : 75.4

BE : 63.9 (Non IIT/NIT)

Work Ex : It will be 4 years in july 2014

Work ex type : IT

I have worked for 1.5 years as a developer of a Business process management tool PEGA ( BPM ) on two projects of Novartis , and currently I am managing a team of 4 at client location Yesbank in a Production support.

Interests : Music :Playing guitar and singing , have a youtube channel with some covers

Actually my basic concern is all the One year MBA B-schools look for some Uniqueness in a profile and i don't think my profile is in any way Unique with the average Acads and Work ex in IT which would be very common among several profiles 😞 so should i even bother about colleges like ISB,IIMS even if i get a Good Gmat score.

Has anybody ever with such a mediocre profile converted ISB ?

Do I have any chances ?
And if yes, then what is the minimum GMAT score I will need to have for being considered ?
Would be grateful for any information provided.

Hello, i have scored 81% in 10th (State board), 72% in 12th (State board) and 89% in B.Tech. i have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 2 years work experience. what are my chances of getting into a good B- School like IIMs and ISB. should i prepare for MBA?

Shortlisted for ICICI BLP.

Is it worth joining, and whr does it stand in post mba dimensions when compared with ISB, SPJIMR and others.

Surely, its a prog which pays while studyng, a confirmed gud ctc, still is it worth.

Hi .. I Completed my B.Tech in 2010. After that worked for 3.6yrs as a Software Engineer in TCS. Currently am woking as Excise Inspector in Central Board of Excise and Customs.  I have two questions:

1) Does ISB provides any reservation for Central Government employees?

2) As my nature of job is quite different from what private companies do, whether my work experience in this field will be a hindrance for my future jobs after doing MBA??

Thanks in Advance 😃 :)

Hi,

My acads are B Tech (68.4%) , XII (66.66%), X (70%).

I have 2.5 years of work ex in IT.

Will a great GMAT score of about 750 help my application get noticed in spite of the low acads.?

Hi,

I have 12 years of work exp. in Jute manufacturing industry.

My acads are X - 84% , XII - 51% , B. TECH - 61%

Do you think I am too old to do PGP from ISB ?

Hi, i am highly enthusiastic to make it to ISB Class of 2015. My acads are as below-

85% in 10th, 77% in 12th, 72% in Btech (Mechanical & automation) from GGSIPU, delhi, ranked top 5 in Btech 2nd year onwards, 2 years 9 months experience in GE Aviation by March 2015.

By God's grace i have won many awards in my 2 years of experience and thus, have a respectable profile. I tested my GMAT competency without preparation and scored 560 in GMATprep practice test 1 with a casual approach 😃 I have figured out my areas needing improvement and working out hard with same.

I wanted to know if a candidate scores from 600-700 but has a good profile, will he/she still be called for an interview? Are the applications first skimmed based on 720+score for ISB & then profile evaluation is done? Or if the essays & profile are good, applications with 600-700 score can still be accepted?

I wish to apply for Round-2 and the last date for same is November 30, 2014. Considering the time required for scores to reach ISB, will Oct first week be the right time to take GMAT? or should i plan to pre-pone it?

Hi All,

I have completed my B.Sc.I.T. and working in IT firm as a software developer and having 50 months of work ex in IT. My Acads are

as X - 77.60% XII - 57.00% and Grad - 67.17

I wanted to know that -

1. Does ISB filters candidate by their Acads..??

2. What is the minimum GMAT cut off for PGP 1 Year program.

3. After GMAT score do ISB have GD PI..??

4. I wish to go for PGP but does it provides specialization?? Can I go With IT Specialization??

5. What is average pay package for 4 years experienced guys..?

6. What is the total fees of ISB Hyderabad campus including Hostel n mess..??

7. Is GMAT really too tough ..??

Please guide me for this.

Thanks & Regards

Manoj
