2014 GMAT Prep and Strategies

GMAT integrated reasoning section - Tips and tricks. Useful read for all GMAT aspirants

http://blog.myprepmate.com/2014/07/gmat-integrated-reasoning-tips-and.html

Hello GMAT aspirants,

My name is Aneesh, and I'm a IIT Madras Alumnus. I've been helping people for GMAT over the past 3 years and must've helped over 250 GMAT students till date. (I handle the QA section only).

I am also heavily active on BeatTheGMAT with around 400 posts and 25 followers and have a youtube channel for GMAT called GMATPad. I've also tutored at institutes such as Jamboree, Kaplan, TIME, etc.

I am offering tutoring (one-on-one or in small batches) to anybody who wants help in increasing their QA section score or to start their prep for the QA section of the GMAT.

The course is very dynamic and suited to the needs of the students. For example, if you would like to boost your QA score, then we can spend more time on the topics that you're weaker at. We could first start with the very basics of one topic where you need more help and just do the tough questions of a topic you are more comfortable with.

In all cases, I start by assessing the current level of the student in different topics of Quant. I also help in structuring your preparation for this exam.

Without exception, each of my students have enjoyed studying with me and their score has improved.

You can call me at 9764205878

More when you call.

Regards and Best wishes,

Aneesh Bangia

Guys pl tel me how many correct attempts one needs to make in order to get a 51 in Math & 38+ in Verbal section.. I hoep that will translate to a 740+

(I am finding Princeton tests in the Math section to be very strict... even after making 33 correct out of 37 in Math I got a paltry 47 !!!)

I calculated my GPA while giving GMAT based on the percentage range. But now I have read that GPA is calculated by some other method.

Could someone please advise on how to convert undergraduate score to GPA? How can I get the GPA changed that I gave in GMAT?

Hi All...

I am preparing for GMAT & I am following Manhattan Study Material(Quant & Verbal), Princeton Review (Quant & Verbal) & Kaplan Guide. But the issue is that these books are 2005 publications. Has the syllabus changed over the years for QUANT & VERBAL ??

A rare BUDGETARY question ! 😛

How much will it cost to me for the GMAT exam + the other essential exams to be given + the forms of the foreign institutes to apply for an MBA or equivalent course?

@neha4659 : Are you active on this thread. I am planning to consolidate the GMAT prep threads. Let me know if you are still helping aspirants on this thread otherwise I will merge and close this thread.

Guys... A small doubt

I already own Powerscore CR's 1st edition, should I buy the second edition too?! Have  there been a lot of changes incorporated or will the 1st edition do? I am aiming for a GMAT score of 750. Advise please!!

Merged the two threads 2014 GMAT prep and strategies and Neha's Free guidance. This thread will be one place for all the GMAT 2014 queries and resolution.

@neha4659 : I have changed the thread name to more generic name.

No practice questions are to be posted here.

I am done with my GMAT, 540, Q45, V20. I intend to write GMAT after 6 months. I stay in Bangalore right now. Actually, I would like to meet in person someone who is master in verbal, so that I can learn from him/her. I know that the only way to  conquer verbal is to learn it from the person who has conquered it. Thanks.

i am willing to appear to GMAT soon though i am aiming only Indian b-schools.

As i came to know i can send my score to 5 b-schools directly through GMCC, which schools i should choose?

Will sending my scores will be considered as applying to those colleges?

What if i dont apply to those colleges after sending my score?

Guys ,

Can someone pls suggest me about the IR from where i have to go through.....pls suggest.....thanks

Last week, I gave gmat test, score was 540, involved preparation using OG and 2 prep. Q45, V 20.

Today, I gave a practice test, veritas, the score is 640, Q44, V34.

I guess, If i keep on giving more mock tests, then, I may be able to reach the magic number 700.

Kindly advice me. Thanks.

Some good free resources for GMAT prep (of course, only after using the GMAC official guides and something like Kaplan), to get that high score:

1. 100 Sprints to Math Success, book on preparing for success in the Quant Sections of GRE, GMAT, CAT, SAT etc., Problems get significantly harder as you get to the later sprints.

2. 10 Sprints to Math Success, First Steps to Conquering the Quant Section of Competitive Exams This one is a much more gentle introduction to the topics covered in (1).

Free samples for (1) and (2) above are available from the "additional resources" section of the ChiPrime web-page www.chiprime.com

3. GSM X - the ChiPrime game that tests you on the basics of GRE and GMAT math --- FREE!!! Without any ads!!! (covers the content of 2 above, but with briefer solution explanations)
