Kab aaega shortlist? 😞
Dear FMS,
when will u stop playing the old trick of conducting interviews after the ABC selection. When will u do away with the sarkari babu culture and stick to the shortlisting date ..Please get out of the bureaucratic attitude and behave like a modern B School..
The frustrated aspirant.😩
Is it worth going to the interview considering the 85-15 scenario ? (Assuming I get the call 😃 )
#NC-OBC - 94.49%ile
What could be the probability that I convert ?
Suggestions would be highly appreciated 😃
I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on flight tickets to travel to Delhi if there is realistically no chance of conversion at 98.94 percentile.
My friend who is studying at FMS said that it is nearly impossible to convert at this low percentile. Even at 99.3 it is difficult, but you can make it if the PI is excellent.
I want to get other people opinions - @Vishvesh610, others who have any knowledge about this? Is there realistically any chance at 98.94 ?
I have issues with leaves at work and the flight tickets are too expensive for me!
Okay, Assuming that the 85-15 weightage is still intact, wouldn't going into last years percentiles be a bit of a aberration. Considering last year the scaled scores were out of 450 and this year, with a change in pattern(and difficulty levels), the scaled scores are out of 300. How would that affect the 85% component?
Dear Aspirants
We understand that you are anxious and that the decision of pursuing an MBA might completely change your life, but we request you to please stay calm. The shortlist will most likely be released in the third week of March and the weightage will be announced close to that. There were students who had filled in wrong CAT IDs for which notices were released (the latest correction being received till 3 March 2015) so that no student is deprived of their chance of applying to FMS. This has caused a major delay in putting together the shortlist. We respect your time, efforts and choices, and wish that you understand that FMS' process is different than the IIMs'. Immediately after the interviews are done, the results are declared and that takes a lot of effort. A little patience is all we ask for and we're here to help you get through. Wish you all the very best for your endeavors. Hope you had a great Holi!
To all those who think that with lesser percentiles there are less chances and those with higher percentiles have greater chances, Consider this:
1. This time, all those aspirants who will get into IIMs will also participate in the admission procedure. This means that higher percentiles are also not safe.
2. One of my friend has 98.89 percentile and we were analysing the last year's score sheets, and this year's CAT scores, we came to know that Clusters of 98.7-98.9 and 99.1-99.3 are too close. So, in the end these groups are nearly same. Same with 99.5 Score. You are not safe with 99.5 as well as you are not out of the process with 98.7 .
3. I had assumed the criteria stays where it was last year ie, 85-15 and even if it changes to 70-30, you have better chances with lower percentiles to convert.
4. See the Scoresheet of last year's procedure. There are two-three students, who with a 99.7 percentile had been left out of the admissions. So, no one is safe. Everyone has to fight. I agree, that the intensity of fight-expected will definitely be different. (Maybe because, the higher percentilers worked harder before CAT - a debatable topic but wont go into this right now)
5. People have got 2 out of 10 in interview last year as well as 9/10 in the interview. So, it still is onto you to convert one of the best BSchools with the preparation.
Chill relax and start working towards improvements. The whole thing is debatable and arguable, but we right now don't have time for this. Start the preparation and be the exception by converting with a lower percentiles. (An achievement in itself) All the best to all future MBAs!!!!
Hello Puys. Can you please tell me what is the maximum and the minimum percentile of last year converts in NC-OBC category?
What is the minimum percentile in OBC category below which it is statistically and logically not even probable to convert?
Probable date for shortlisted candidates.

Dear Admin
Could you provide a tentative date as to when the interviews will start. It is urgent.
Please at least provide the interview dates! Have to book flight tickets for other interviews. Don't want to cancel in a situation of clash of dates!
