Seniors.. do you have any idea what was the convert ML number in OBC category last year after the second waiting list? Just wanted to guess my chances for conversion at ML- 170..

hi everyone , i have some confusion about the merit list and waitlist , supposing that there is a common merit list based on marks for all candidates who appeared for interview for say only PGDIM (considering only single course is offered for simplicity ) , then is there a possibility that any category (viz obc , sc, st) who is ranked above a general guy in common merit list is offered a general seat or is he allowed to take only the seat acording to  categorywise merit list prepared . I hope the question is clear , please respond ,thank you    @Rd721  @supercommander

Hello , 

My category merit list didnt move in PGDISEM  and it is showing 'Not Available' in the movement . BTW I am from ST category . I submitted a withdrawal form so it should have shown 1 merit list forward movement but it didnt . That means after the first list 3 applicants of my category must have accepted . But I withdrew my seat yesterday and that means the list must have been updated before yesterday . 

To explain it better let me write the status of my form ..

Results : My merit list initially : 5 ( 5 seats for ST category)

              1st list : 6-8 ( 3 didnt take the offer but I had taken already before SJMSOM 2ndt list)

               2nd list : Not Available ( After 2st list of SJMSOM results )..18thMay

I withdrew my seat from NITIE on 19th by dropping a mail early in the morning .

That means the list was updated before the SJMSOM .. 

Now what should I understand from that ? That means till 3rd list my seat will not be open for other candidates and they wont have any confirmation mail. And in 4th list other WL at 9 will get the mail and if he doesnt accept that means my 4.19 Lakhs is gone ... Overall I am doomed !!

I have paid the fees in NITIE but m willing to join IIM K in case I clear the waitlist there. My current WL number in IIM K is 38 in general category and its next list does not come before 31st May. If Nitie comes out with its final list before that,will I get back only 28k on admission cancellation?
