[2019] IMS SIMCAT 1 Proctored (26th April to 2nd May)

I have created Video Solutions for the quant section of SIMCAT 1 and uploaded them in a playlist on a youtube channel named "Shankar Bhayankar"

It contains what all went through my mind at the time of attempting the paper and some of the concepts that can help you attempt questions in less time.

I would recommend only those users who have attempted the test to have a look at it for potential benefit.

Do leave feedback on videos. If people find it useful, I might do the same thing for other tests as well.

PS: In the actual test, in the quant section, I got 32 right and 2 wrong.

The real Competition starts from Simcat 2, Simcat 1 didnt have the cream giving, Gear up Guys, the battle will now start.

For any B-School query or QA & LR-DI doubts, now post in our Facebook group:

Hi Guys, I have been in several interviews my life. And as its said you learn from your mistakes. I started writting down things we should do/ don't in an interview. And I feel like sharing that list with you.

  1. Dress appropriately for the interview. Depending upon the culture of office enviornment and the profile you are applying for. E.g., google photographs of company outdoor meets.
  2. Researching the company and your interviewers. Must.
  3. Avoid distractions and keep eye contact. There is always some or the other distractions going on. Don't lose your focus, it is counted as a negative.
  4. Be confident and comfortable. Obviously! Just try to keep your chill. Don't lose it.
  5. Be aware of body language. You gestures speak for you in an unknown enviornment.
  6. Prepare what to say. Always! However, if you are someone who has the control over your words and feel like you want to go with flow and practising can actually bound you. Than don't prepare.
  7. Rehearse your introduction with a friend. Again the same as above point.
  8. Take responsibilty for your things. If need be. Just don't decline.

Thats all for now.

Could take SIMCAT 1 today Total: 84 (92.08%ile) DI LR: 7(37.79%ile) QA: 40(96.67%ile) VARC: 37(91.31%ile) Yet to analyze the entire mock but in quant could have done much better with just the things I already know. VARC, time management seems the biggest challenge right now. For DILR, Thinking to solve previous mocks. Any other suggestions or insights?
