Greetings from PR and Media Committee!
Due to certain inevitable reasons, the results have been delayed and will be released by 23rd May. We understand your eagerness and anxiety but please try to understand that we are trying our best to speed up the entire process. Please bear with us for a couple of days.
The results will be sent to only the selected candidates via mail from the admission office.
Regarding the waitlists, we wanted to convey it to you that there will be no waitlist number provided to the candidates who aren't selected in the first merit list. However, almost all the candidates who aren't selected will receive a mail from the admission office by next week to pay a willingness fee of 10k (refundable) to feature in the next merit lists and waitlists. Only the profiles of those candidates who show their interest by paying the willingness fee will be considered for further rounds of admission process and waitlisting. All the candidates who pay the willingness fee will be provided with a waitlist number in their respective categories, and an option to withdraw their willingness any time within a stipulated time period and their deposited amount will be refunded. For the candidates who receive an admission offer and take admission at IIM Sambalpur, the amount of 10k will be adjusted against the fee payable for the first trimester. The candidates who deposit the willingness fee and don't get an admission offer will be refunded the entire amount.
This is just being done to reduce the traffic (primarily candidates who have already received calls from other IIMs and those who will be converting by next week as more IIMs release their results) and to speed up the process for the candidates who are interested in taking admission at IIM Sambalpur.

Just a thought...
In order to prepare the merit lists, a college needs the following details of candidates:
1. CAT Score and Percentile.
2. Academics scores - X, XII, UG.
3. Work Experience.
4. UG Diversity.
5. Gender Diversity.
6. Certifications - CA/CFA etc.
7. WAT & PI Scores.
1 to 6 is provided in the CAT completely.
7 is provided by CAP coordinating IIM - Maximum 1 month in manually correcting WAT scores.
Each and every institute already has its own set parameters and weightage on how to process these scores.
How much time does it take process max 20k records? 2 days in the worst of the worst scenario??
Of course, this year the process was affected by COVID-19 but this is a routine which happens every year in every institute. IIMs and non-IIMs.
Would be happy to get educated if I am missing any points or steps which occurs behind the scenes.
