Attempted CAT on 19th Oct 2012... 13 attempts in sec 1 with almost 100% accuracy & 21 attempts in sec-2, cant say abt the accuracyCan anyone suggest which colleges i should apply to and what %ile i can expect?
You can expect anything from 75 to 90%ile based on your accuracy level.
Apply to Colleges with cut off's 70-85.
Won't suggest for colleges other than 2-3 if doing MBA is not a compulsion this year.
Some of the options as of now (Whose last dates are before CAT Results) -->
KJ-IB Fore/Fore-IB LBS FMS-BHU
UBS
If you def have to go for MBA, then some more options -->
BIMTECH IISWBM NIBM Pune, etc
You could try for NIT's as well.
You could have same options after your CAT Results based on the %ile you get.. !!
@nidhi2802 See, first your percentile would fell short for decent colleges. Now as you have mentioned that MBA is compulsion then go for NIT's. They would be a better bet than the remaining institutions. Also you could opt for BIMTECH and IISWBM as @avinashkrjha had pointed out in his earlier post. Check once if applications for IMI Bhubaneswar and Kolkata are open, if yes then you can try there also. Also, I assume that you would have applied for other examinations also, viz., XAT, SNAP. So prepare hard for those exams, try fetching a good score and you may still land up in creme institution.
A good college with great ROI...fees will be around a lakh for the whole course and average placements are around 8... Last date for sale of forms - 26 Nov....
@Dream_FMS I am expecting a score of 83+ i cat..how do i know the percentile??any idea what %tile one have with this score...comparing it with last year...
Check out the process of normalization...conversion of percentage into percentile depends on certain parameters..
thnx dude ... .... but i doubt i can get through in SP Jain because of my grad acads . Is it not the case ???
It all depends on your score your score first...if you get around 95%ile then you are surely in for a call from SP JAIN as your profile is good except that cgpa in grad...so forget that and prepare for the next challenge i.e. GD/PI...ATB :)
@vijay_chandola only IIT D require a cgpa above 6.75 and IIT B of 6.5...rest fall in between 6 to 6.25 minimum requirement OK ?

For HR
XIMB , SCMHRD , XLRI , SPJain. IMT Ghz
In general
If you can get above 90%tile in CAT .. expect calls from a few IIMs
@paridhidixit Excellent academic credentials. If your CAT experience has been good, rest assured you would be receiving calls from most of the top b-schools. As per your preference for an HR specialization under CAT aim for XIMB, MDI, IIMs, SPJAIN under SNAP target for SCMHRD and under XAT go for the mecca of HR, XLRI.
