[2023] Which B-Schools should you apply to?

hi sir,
I am expecting an overall score of (90-100) in cat 2012 my acads are:
X-86%
XII 96.1%
b.tech frm NITS 72.7%
1 year exp in IT.

ca i expect calls frm new IIMs/FMS/SPJAIN ?
In order to get calls from above what shud be overall score any idea?

I am from GEN category...

@cat4kg ....

1) Looking at your profile , work ex and interest I would suggest that you go for tier 1 colleges only. Aim for IIMs,XLRI, SPjain, JBIMS (execllent for finance), MDI & NMIMS .

2) If you dont get through to tier 1 colleges this year then you can wait or go for GMAT. Also you can pursue a finance based certification( like CFA, FRM) during that time. It would help you realize whether you are really interested in finance or not.

3) Finance as a stream is very good and exciting but see to it that you have made an informed choice.

4) Your inclination towards MBA is quite natural and this is the most common reason for which people want to pursue MBA, to break the glass ceiling. MBA if done from a good institute has high ROI, you can be rest assured about it.

1) It would have been helpful if you could have given the no. of questions attempted and accuracy because score after normalization cannot be predicted.

2) Your acads are quite impressive and you also have experience so a score of above 98.5%ile should get you a call from IIMs, FMS. For SP Jain above 95 %ile would get you a call.

@cat4kg ROI on Knowledge front? Just impossible to measure! Even about compensation on placement, I am not fully convinced to refer ROI with regard to MBA study! But, people do go on referring and comparing....
@chowdarip Fully Agree Sir!

how can one guess the percentile score and start applying to colleges.....every bschool seems to have a deadline of application even before the results of the corresponding exam are announced.....someone pllease let me know the names of the bschools to which we can apply even after cat results are announced.....

Please suggest some colleges for my profile :

10 th 80
12 th 66
Btech PEC - 61
Work ex 4 Years +
Current earnings : 50k per month

Would be writing NMAT , IIFT , SNAP .
Applied to UBS-CDG

Reason for Mba : In my present work area would be stuck forever in south 😞

Not interested in specialization MBA

Past Scores : CAT 2011 = 88.9%(96qa + 65va dun knw hw)

Response suggesting B-Schools to apply for as i am interested to take up a specialization in Marketing,relative to my performance in CAT, will be appreciated. I know its kinda futile to predict percentile now , but a conservative estimate from an experienced test taker would do !

Thanking you in anticipation.

Suggest you to prepare hard for XAT/SNAP/CMAT if you are attempting them or else try again next year.

You won't get any decent college at 60%ile.
