You need to apply separately for XAT & CMAT.

For CMAT, if you apply, then your both CMAT Scores will be considered.

Suggest you to apply through CMAT now only so that you can avail the Discount of Rs 400. Same is suggested for XAT as well. An amount of 800 is not less :)


For domicile -->

For the purpose of application under the category of persons of Goan Domicile or Origin the student must satisfy any of the following: Goan Domicile: An applicant would be considered of Goan Domicile if he/she produces a domicile certificate issued by the Goa Government or documentary proof of residence/education/ employment in Goa for a period of at least 10 years. Alternatively, an adequate proof of the domicile of any one of the parents of the students for a period of at least 15 years should be provided. Goan Origin: Either one of the following conditions must be met: An applicant or at least one of his parents or grandparents should be /have been born in Goa (documentary proof in the form of the original birth certificate has to be produced). The applicant or his parents should have a share in ancestral property in Goa which is utilized as the family's residence or business premises. Documentary proof of this must be certified by the sub divisional magistrate or the Municipality.

I have sort of a general query. What B-Schools have the best reputation for Marketing? I am particularly interested in the ones falling in 90-95%ile and 85-90%ile ranges. Also, what kind of companies predominantly recruit from these colleges? Where can one expect the best ROI for such profiles?

1. Now, you all are done with CAT. But do not forget that apart from CAT, there are other MBA entrance exams which are equally important and can get you admissions in Top B-Schools such as XLRI, SIBM, IIFT etc. These exams are: XAT 2013, IIFT 2012, SNAP 2012, CMAT 2013. The strategy remains the same. Attempt Mock Exam and try to identify your weaker section and focus on that.

2. The admission process of many top B-schools are now going on in full swing. If you have not yet applied, do not waste time. Make a list of the B-schools you want to apply and check the details of the application process before they meet the deadlines.

Even we as a student of GIM don't know about the number of applications. Then how can outsiders know :P

Application Deadline is 31st December 2012. So we cannot know about the number of applicants till that time.

Also, it has been already decided by GIM long back that it will accept both the CMAT Scores..

GIM will be accepting only XAT and CMAT Scores.

Last year cut off

XAT - 76.48 %ile
CMAT - 198/400

I was wondering if you could help me some more..
Strictly speaking wrt to CAT, I'll mostly apply to FMS, IMT G, FSM, LBSIM & KJ SOMAIYA as of now.. Can you suggest a few more good colleges? Especially in the 85-95 range (phooti hui kismat.. still can't predict my percentile range).. How're TAPMI, MICA, GIM, Welingkar, LIBA? What are their average pay packages like?
Also, is it advisable to apply for XIMB through both CAT and XAT?
And one last question.. Do all the IITs have their deadlines after the results come out? I heard some of my friends saying that some IITs have their deadlines before the results, any truth in that?

@samrat.biswas22 If the expected score is 90%tile then the institutes you're targeting would not give you a GD-PI call. At that percentile you can target some of the below institutes:

@ankitrocks Any institute would be because everywhere they would be teaching more or less same concepts. I don't know specifics but then there is XIME (Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship) at Bangalore which accepts XAT scores. The name suggests so, but do check out the courses and confirm from seniors there if there is some specific focus on entrepreneurship and something different offered compared to other institutes.
