1. Fee : 11.85 lacs + 1.56 lacs (Hostel) = 13.41 lacs
2. Average Salary : 9.75 lacs (PGDM) , 8.5 (HR)
3. It's on you to take a call now. If Fee part is not an issue, college is decent with good name in the industry.

1. I would suggest you to apply to as many colleges as possible if you def have to get into a B-School next year.
2. You can decide on which one to join after you get all the converts.

i was working for an MNC till last year, drawin 5.25LPA, but had quit it after 1.2years of work exp, and joined a college as lecturer.
last year was 1st atempt, dint know anythin, not even PG sand prep too wasnt so good so ended up in 85% ( 1st sectn ) 60% ( 2nd sectn)
givin a try this year.. mocks are not that awesome kinda 😞

Lol there is only 1 mnc which gives exact 5.25 in beginning....so i guessed the company right. I believe it wud have given u 8lpa till 2014. 2014 will be the year when u will complete ur mba after shelling out 10-12 L fees. Before moving to the list of colleges, I would like to say that dont worry much about mocks. Just analyze all the mocks that you have taken so far and try to identify where you are lagging and with 50 days in hand, work on those areas a little bit more! 😃
Secondly, your last year CAT score shows you have the potential in you...so gear up and work harder to take your scores up. There is no reason to give up the aim of scoring high percentile in CAT just because of mocks.
Now, coming to the colleges, taking everything into consideration and assuming that you are going to take your scores up from now, in my opinion you can apply to the following:
CAT - IIMs, FMS, NITIE, MDI, IIT Mumbai, IIT Delhi, IIT-Kharagpur ( will not suggest more on the basis of overall ROI)
XAT - XLRI, XIMB, GIM
NMAT- NMIMS
IIFT- IIFT
TISS- TISS
SNAP - SIBM, SCMHRD ( for SCMHRD you need to score high in SNAP again as your 12th marks are less and hence you need to be in list based on score )
I will not suggest to go for IRMA unless you are interested in building career in Rural Management and MICA only if you wish to build career in media and advertising. Again, this field doesn't offer you package as expected by you in start as it is more driven by people who enjoy this work and not by pay packages.

1. Your Academic Record is Decent. Except for a few colleges, you are good to go for all other colleges.
2. You still have 50 days to go. Make your best efforts. Analyse your mocks properly and work more in areas where you are weak.
3. Did you not register for CMAT?
4. As per your criteria (8 Avg), you should apply to the following colleges :
XLRI
XIMB
IMT
SIBM
SCMHRD
NITIE
MDI
FMS
IIT'S
KJ-SOM
NIRMA
BIM-T
TAPMI
MFC
MBE
5. Few colleges like FMS, MDI, NITIE, IIT B/D will have cut offs more than 97%ile.

I think the average wages that @avinashkrjha has mentioned are a little on the higher side (at least for HR they definitely are). But that usually is the case with most of the B-Schools these days and I don't blame him for that.
Please discuss you profiles with alumni of B-schools, as they will be able to tell you more about the ROI that you can get out of that institute.
One more thing. Please don't look at the Highest Package while calculating your ROI. For a Fresher, the packages are most of the time, a little lower than average. You have to be either lucky, or extremely talented to bag an offer from the highest payers in the market, or infact both.
If you have work-ex then I would suggest take a look at the students with similar profiles as yours, and see where they got placed? Again, talking to an alumnus will solve this problem.
You see life becomes real hard after you join work with a 8-12 Lac loan on your head. I'll give you a simple example. Lets assume you get placed with a CTC package of 8 LPA. Your in hand component will be around 40-45k per month. Lets assume you have taken a loan of 8 lac. You then have 2 options, either clear the loan asap, by increasing the EMI amount, and reducing the payback period to 4 or 5 years. Or continue paying lower EMIs for 10 or more years. The monthly installments will come in the range of 20k to 30k (It can get less than this too, I have just taken an example) That leaves you with 15-25k at your perusal in a TIER-1 city to live. In such cases, Savings will have to wait for a couple of years.
There always remains a financial burden on you, if the job is not paying you much.
It gets really frustrating till the time you are under debt, and I would insist you to consider that. I have literally seen people cracking down on the burden of their loan (Thankfully my parents were generous enough to loan me the money themselves, and I am informally paying them back my fee in installments. Also my college fee was 7 lac which saved me about 3lac in comparison with other colleges)
The reason I ask you to talk to alumni is because they will give you a better picture about the job profiles and the pay structures, as well as the value additions that happened at a certain institute. :)

It was 7LPA. Now it is even less. :)
