Hi..I am a working IT professional with a work ex of 2.5 years. Didn't get much time to prepare for CAT so did not manage a good score. Here is my profile:
Quant - 85.05
VA - 89.35
Overall - 89.25
X (CBSE) - 82.8
XII (CBSE) - 80.6
B.E. (I.T.) - 69%
Plus as I mentioned above, a work ex of 2.5 years...do I stand a chance in some decent college that can offer me a good placement? Or should I look forward to preparing better and taking next year's CAT?

You have 36 months of work-ex in Infy. So you would def not want to join a college where you won't get a placement worth your work-ex.

@ibad786 thanks for the reply.. i also know at 86.89 % IIMs are way too far. but besides them i have also filled a form for DTU-DSM. can i expect a call from it? also it will helpful if you suggest some good colleges that will surely call me for GD/PI.

Applications at MDI are closed and they haven't reopened it in the past few years.
Consider applying to all IIT's (except B & D), IMI, IMT, KJSOM, TAPMI and few among BIM T, LIBA, KJSOM IB, NIT T as backup options.

Whether a B-School is good or not is subjective and you'll have to take the decision yourself. What you'll get if you ask anyone here is institutes you can consider applying based on last year cutoff's (and in some cases acads/profile also)!!

TAPMI calls everyone for GDPI and then CAT score has a weightage in final selection!! So someone with a good profile and excellent GDPI can convert even at lower percentile.

No one can predict cutoff buddy! It depends on the applicant pool they have got. How cutoff is decided is based on the seats to GDPI call ratio the institute wants. Say for 60 seats XYZ institute wants 10 candidates in GDPI for every seat. So 600 to be called. Now based on CAT scores of applicant pool wherever they get this number is the cutoff!! So can you guess/predict cutoff? Can I? Can anyone here? I guess NO. So unfortunately applying based on last year cutoff is the best option available.
