hi i have got final call from both FORE and TAPMI , but i am not able to decide which one should i select ? since you are studying in Fore, so atleast you plz guide me for the same, considering all the factors ( like faculty, location , placements, previous years records and also the course, since i want to go in FINANCE side) so plz give me feedback as soon as possible

all those people who are in dilemma wether to takehostel or not
my personal opinion take hostel for the first year later in 2nd year if u dont like shift to pg/flat
people went thr and saw hostel ....its ok type
and almost every hostel food is bad

and even then u want pg

contact them over fone
get in touch soon bcoz that place is an educational place
with IMI ,IIFT,FORE and many other college
+++ people prepare for IAS also thr..so getting pg may be difficult
so start the search soon

please then go & delete all the thread whr thr is so much discussion on which b-school to choose..
last yr TAPMI thread is full of all tht..

i think here i was not comparing b school but suggesting on the basis of personal experience & knowledge...since in this case the person's pref is finance...

ok koul i'll PM u , & u can get in touch with a fellow PGite who has chosen TAPMI ovr FORE coz he wants to study finance..

I wanted to know is SYSTEMS offered as a specialisation at FORE...some guys were saying it was there a couple of years ago but not now...and in the prospectus there is a faculty list for systems...please let me know whether it is offered or not ..TIA

I's advising on a particular case whr this guy wanted to study finance & i happen to ponder on the same case for a frnd..so i adviced..
and i have frnds in FORE and have interacted with TAPMIans as well..

PG is meant for ppl who wish to pursue PG courses & the likes so i don't think they r immature enuf to be played with sentiments..
don't get overboard & say thing like this...
I've earned myself a hardcore tag & i knw i desrve it...advising ppl is no immaturity...

Hi ritesh.i really appreciate your king effort dat u r devoting ur valuable time to solve Queries of MBA aspirants..My most of the problems had been solved by FOREx..I am having 1.5 yr work ex in Sterlite Ind with excellent academic record and extra curricular..How much %ile is needed to get the call for 2nd round?

think a lil late in answering ur query but still...Bringing ur p.c. would solve ur problem.....laptop only gives the advantage of mobility and working from the campus....still majority of the time u would be working in groups and someone or the other would be having one...for the rest of the work u coud work from ur p.c. at the hostel...

until i know which category of b-schools are u aiming at and what are ur other options, i cant comment much about how FORE should be ur "The" college to be in.

But on a general level i could tell you why i had chosen FORE over other options. I am from the class of 2005-07 and had 94.7%ile in CAT 04...i had final calls from FORE, MICA, LBS, Nirma and Somaiya n was waitlisted at TAPMI. I chose FORE because of the location and the placements. The faculty is the core strength of the college. Being in the heart of delhi pumps up placements. The negatives would be that its not residential yet. The hostel facility is available for 30-40 people on a priority basis. I was a hostelite and got acco without much troubles. The fact that there are a lot of delhi'ites who make the final cut makes the fight for hostel less intense...Another negative would be tht being in the heart of the capital robes us of a lavish campus. But we have managed well within the space. Placements are among the best in the similar grade insti's. For more details you could check out PGDBM Placement 2006

Last but not the least...I am happy that i chose FORE! I think that should be enuf than what any stats has to offer.. 😉
