P_a_G_a_L_G_u_Y; seems to be doing a good job here.. though am available too. last year it was pg which helped me alot during the prep times. guys gd and interview are a very essential part where regardless of the percentiles u are being judged on a same platform. so prepare well.. strt online gds right here, interview prep assistance may also be seeked..

I am a student of IIT Madras, chemical engineering with a cgpa of 6.62. So f****d up acads.

a decent performance in 10th and 12th with good marks in maths and science.

My CAT Performance is

Quants - 96.31
DI - 99.05
Verbal - 87.82

Overall - 98.61

I won't ask will i get a call from FORE. which i am sure based on CAT score i will.

but they start calling at 85+ percentile above.

so is it worth joining FORE or better wait for one year or Join Narsee Monji. I was not optimistic about my CAT and acads so i did not apply to MDI or any other college.

Being in iit should i join FORE>

I am not trying to boast, but serious concerns. I know acads are totally fucked so carrying the tag.. Being an iitian doesnt suit pretty well.

well u are onthe bordelrline i suppose, ur extra curriculars will matter now,
i attach the conditions apply ,, its just my view point,, keep fingers crossed,,
if u get through , then be prepared with some questions on the business u were involved in

ha ha.. well quite a dilemma,,
dekho, if u are sure that next year the situation is gonna be much better with calls from blacki and nmims, fms and mdi too, then its worth a drop, what u have to weigh is a years drop vs ur confidence for next year,
acads wont matter as much as u think they do, what matters after the calls is how those 10 minutes of the interviw are.

placements at fore are going higher each year with bg brands and bigger packages, the dtils can be obtained from forex, he is inthe placement cell.

decision rests un i and is a crucial one isnt it

i already got a call from nmims(363) and jmet rank is 984.. so may be i will get a call from iit kgp.

so is fore worth joining if i don't get admission in the above mentioned institutes.

hi! i `m nimit i am a complete fresher. b.com final yr. i got 80% in part 1. hav 82%in 12th, 77in 10th.my cat %tile is 91.43. will i get a call & wht is past trend 4 a rank fresher like ratio of final placement : ttotal or no. of calls to freshers pls help

just do ur gd/pi well......i wont deny tht work-ex is preferred generally but tht wud only matter if they hv to chose b/w u and someone else...
wut im tryin to emphasize, wit ur percentage, try getting a clean sweep and ul b in no truble.. 😉 ...
to chill u out, im a fresher too with not much higher percentile than urs...so gear up and do well!!!

i dont c a problem if the rest of ur profile is simpl decent....
percentile wise, ul get a call, but as we've been emphasising, FORE luks thru ur overall profile during the call and hence no xact cut-offs for ne1....
as mentioned, cat score wise.... i think ul get a call!!

okies....lets c....altho candlez has tried to make the point, but still...lets look at ur concerns one by one
1st: FORE doesnt call at 85+...theres no xact cut-off of FORE in terms of cat percentile, a person with 95 mite not get a call if the overall profile is not gud, whereas one with 88 mite....however this yr for a fresher we do not xpect the pecentile to fall below 87(lowest)..the overall percentile is considered to give those ppl a fair chance who did not hv a very lucky day on the D-day....got nuthin to do with rankings...
2nd:about the tag!!!!yes u can worry abt tht, and if thts ur concern, i wud not recommend u FORE.....tho by 2009(i.e. when ur batch passes out) u mite realize tht droppin FORE for the "tag" was not worth...FORE has never marketed itself(if u wud hv noticed) simply becos it believes in quality than brand!!wherever FORE stands today is pure word of mouth(which cannot be decorated)
as about current and our senior batch...we've got even 99 percentilers with us also....and oh i forgot, candlez herself has left IMI for FORE!!!
so u c!!!joining FORE or not is totally ur call.....if u have a specific qs. about FORE...we'll b pleased to ans. u to help u make ur decision!!
as for now, dropping an year wen u have a call from FORE (not recommended) on a personal note - simply becos of the uncertainty factor or for tht matter placement factors also(equating placements at FORE-2009 and ne other "brand" insti-2010)!!!if u want a "BRAND", then thts a different issue - the choice is yours!!

I got a job with a CTC of 6 lacs. I am all confused, i am not so keen on doing mba and on top of that fore ( even if i decide to do mba ) because i want to wait and go to a better college once i have work ex.

I just need work ex to cover up for my poor acads, then i can think of a better college, but dad says no u won't study once u start working. SO do MBA right now.

any suggestions.

Hello all, I think a lot of discussions going on abt "Will I get a call from FORE". Obvious, at this point in time everyone would be concerned abt getting info abt the same. Let us also have a few discussions with the seniors abt the hostel and other infrastructure at FORE. Some of u guys from FORE, can u pls throw some light on the same as these points seem to have discussed nowhere. Especially if a guy like me comes from Chennai, it is obvious that I feel comfortable staying on campus. So is there any hostel facility on campus?? And what about other infrastructure?

Also, I remember reading somewhere that FORE is shifting to a new campus at Noida. Is it true, if yes, from when is it expected to commence operations?
