In the Sunday bazzar, Jamuna sells her lemons at Rs. 0.50 for two. Her neighbor Seema has a little smaller lemons; she sells hers at Rs. 0.50 for three. After a while, when both ladies have the same number of lemons left, Seema is called away. She asks her neighbor to take care of her goods. To make things simple, Jamuna puts all lemons in one big pile, and starts selling five lemons per one rupee. When Seema returns, at the end of the day, all lemons have been sold. But when they start dividing the money, there appears to be a shortage of Rs. 3.50. Supposing they divide the money equally, how much does Jamuna lose with deal?a. Rs. 10.50b. Rs. 11.50c. Rs. 42.00d. Rs. 52.50

Jamuna originally sells a lemon at = 0.5/2=0.25 rs semma sells at = 0.5/3 = 0.16666 Later on a lemon is sold at = 1/5 = 0.2 rs seema's lemons are sold at an extra price = 0.2-0.1667 =0.0333 Jamuna's lemons are sold at a price lesser by = 0.05 rs selling two lemons causes a loss of = 0.05 -0.0333 = 0.016666 No of lemons sold in loss = 3.5/0.01666*2 = 420 so jamuna loses = 420*0.05/2 =10.5
Hi Puys...ek doubt hai yaaro...
Ans. 7000 at the end of 5 years at 5pcpa will become 8750
Now the future value of 4000...4000's value after 3 years at 5 pcpa will become 4600
Hence the amount to be paid after 5 years is 8750-4600= 4150....
OK NOW THE DOUBT....
If we go backwards and find the value of 4000 2 years ago and subtract it from the principal 7000 and then apply the interest on it after 5 years, we do not get the same answer...
Why is it so ? Puys BASICS kahin choot rha hai..clear karo 😞
