last year for GDPI 4872 candidates were shortlisted which when divided by 4 results in 1218.....but in this year 6180(approx) are selected so when divided by 4 will result in 1500(approx)....so is there any chances of increase in vacancy....it might be possible....
Friends I do support reservation but not in its present form.
The reservation is given purely on the assumption that everyone from backward class is weak, poor and oppressed, and everyone from general category is self-sufficient and does not need any support.
Well, is it the case?
The benefits of reservation are not trickling down to the one's who really need it. Does an urban dalit today, whose parents are well placed and can provide for good school education and healthy life .really need reservation? By taking reservation that urban dalit is denying a rural dalit the opportunity (an initial push) to stand on its own feet and get empowered.
So who's oppressing whom now?
I know people who use reservation again and again. IIT-UPSC-Promotions.
There's no doubt people from lower caste have been oppressed by people from upper caste since 2000 years. And some great people of our country who came from oppressed section underwent so many hardships just to get basic things in life just because of their caste. But despite those adversaries, nothing could stop them from being great. And greatness knows no caste.
Solution for fair reservation
Basis - Economic/Social condition of people from backward class.
Frequency - Only Once (Education/Job and ward shouldn't be entitled for it if either of the parent have already availed reservation).
Now that's the kind of reservation I find fair and would defend till the end.
