CAT 2017 - GDPI

guys in chennai which is best for gd pi prep ??

cl or time for gdpi in chennai?

Hi guys, Please help

Is Malay Ray sir good for commerce/economics grads who have a basic understanding of economics and finance ? Or will it be better to do research and read on current topics by ourselves ?

Got really busy lately, hence the delay in the post! Here are the tips for answering second and third question from the interview question set.

What are your greatest strength and weaknesses?

Common mistake: To pose your weakness in such a way that it is actually your strength. To say something that is totally irrelevant. To say a weakness that might actually get you kicked out.

Example:

Sir, I am a perfectionist. I waste so much time getting things perfectly. Sir, I am emotional and I easily trust on people (Irrelevant).                Sir, I cannot take decisions. I am not at all decisive (Fatal).

How to answer such questions

1. Introspect yourself and find your real strength and weaknesses. It takes some time so give it a day.

2. Have 3-4 of each as the interviewer can give silent treatment. When you say two weaknesses he might sit and wait for you to say more. So tell only two strengths or weaknesses at once. This way you have more to talk about in case he remains silent.

3. Say something that he might be actually interested to talk about.

4. Always tell them how are you working on your weaknesses.

5. Don't say I have always had this or that weakness as it suggests that you are doing nothing to improve.

6. Your strengths should be backed up by real life experiences, weaknesses too.

7. Don't be reserved. Speak your heart out but a little carefully. Try to make your answers as true as possible. Add little details to add truth value to it.

That's all I had in one go. You all can add more suggestions in the comments. ATB!

NITIE has decided to extend the last date of submission to 22nd January,2016(1700 Hrs) .

Still we request all the interested aspirants to apply and get done with the process as early as possible , to avoid any unseen troubles later on.

Before we go ahead with other interview questions for PI. There are some concepts that everyone needs to know.

Rule 1: For all the interviews you will never know why were you rejected, also you will never know why were you selected. (Rare Exceptions)

Rule 2: There are two things in an interview. Makers and Breakers.

Breakers: If you can't get the basic stuff right like your body posture, language and elementary questions then you are over. Once you have escaped the breakers then is the time to make the interview.

Makers: These can be multiple things. Depends on how much you get the interviewer to open up with you. Gather all your good points and make sure they don't go unnoticed.

Fatal Flaw 1: The Security Syndrome

Candidates try to keep themselves secured at all times during an interview. We try not to say extreme things as they may attract some serious follow up questions. If you want to crack an interview, prepare well and be fearless. Always giving 'median' answers will save your ass and you will come out unscrewed but will mostly get rejected.

This is all that occurred to me in one go! Please feel free to add more things. Stay Tuned for the next questions in the set in case you find my posts useful. ATB!

Anyone joined TIME Delhi for GD PI prep ?? How good is it? Which centre should be preferred?

I have a question., with job in hand how to prepare for gdpi? Any suggestions?

which institute is best in mumbai for gd/pi wat?

Sorry if this question seems a bit irrelevant/off topic to some. I have my first PI on 31st Jan (IIMA) and I wanted to know what to wear on the PI day. I am well aware that saree/ western attire is preferred but I'd like to know what most of the women wear to the interview so I don't feel like the odd one.

P.S.: I have neither worn a saree nor a western formal outfit in my entire life, so feeling a bit nervous about the attire.

Has anybody enrolled for the CL PDP Planned in Delhi? Any reviews?

Guys, I have a genuine doubt.. In the WAT sections, I heard that you would be given a piece of paper and a time limit without any word limit. I have a pretty big handwriting, so the question is basically, would we be allowed to use extra sheets (or both sides of the paper)? I know, the shorter and crisper the better, but I generally write big (as in size of letters and not word count)!

Also, another question. To what extent would cuts and scratches be tolerated? Again, I know that the cleaner the better, but there will be genuine cases were in you would like to edit your written answers!! 😛 *I'm stupid*

I have heard from many that 10 yrs down the line after MBA, what differentiates between 2 candidates at a very different positions is how well has he taken advantage of the network that he has built. Can anybody tell how exactly does networking work ?? Though a Lame question to ask, but would be helpful to me and also others who aint aware abt this.
