How is life at an IIM academically ?
Any links for preparation of FMS Delhi interview? Please help
1)Hi All, I heard that in IIT and IIMs they ask for getting new community certificate every academic year. Is it correct? I know that NC-OBC have to renew their certificates but if it is applicable for SC ST as well.
2)I have a SC certificate which was issued to me in 2006, will it be valid or I have to get a new one. I attended IIM CAP process where the panel examined the certificate but didn't say whether I should get a new one or not. I have given the photocopy of the same certificate everywhere else.
3)As of now, I have converted IRMA, BIM Trichy, LIBA. Which one should be given priority?
Please help guys. 😄

Interview Experience of IIM Kozhikide:
Interview date - 3rd April 2017 (Afternoon Slot - 1.30 PM)
GD/WAT Topic: Fake News is better than Partisan Newspaper
(Had no idea what is a partisan newspaper, however made a wild guess of the same and turned out to be correct)
GD started right after the WAT. Not even a minute was given to re think on the ideas.
After 5 minutes, content was over with the entire group and hence, I tried to put across the points which were discussed by the entire group. I was constantly trying to fuel up the discussion and was somehow successful.
PI started at 4 PM and I could hear that the professors are taking up stress interviews and people coming out of the room CRYING!
(Was scared to death as I have never been through one)
Was asked to come inside and take a seat. Greeted both the professors and they nodded their heads.
P1 and P2 were sitting with a angry look on their faces.
P1: Introduce yourself.
Me: Sir, I belong to a business management family. (Was interupted here and asked to explain as to what I mean by that) Sir, my father has a distributorship of Bharatgas Petroleum Limited. (Interupted again)
P1: What do you mean by that?
(Explained the entire business model and was interupted as to this is not management and a simple model but I was able to convince them that it is not that easy as it looks)
P1: You have done Bachelor's in Finance. Were you interested in that?
Me: Yes.
P1: But your marks don't seem to justify your statement.
Me: Sir, I was into a volntary organisation which focussed on giving leadership experiences and sir, I feel like that grades were not in my favour.
(Both the professors laughed a little here and said till now we heard that the gods were not in my favour but this is something unique :p)
P1: Ok. So, what were your subjects in your graduation?
(Named a few subjects and subsequent questions were asked. Got stuck in one or two but sailed through)
P2: (Looking at his stopwatch) What are your hobbies?
Me; Sir, drumming and photography.
P2: What kind of pictures you like to click?
Me: Sir, macro shots.
P2: What is a macro shot?
(Explained to him by giving a practical example)
P1 interrupted in between and said but the concepts of econimy are reverse. If you take a larger picture then it is called as macro, however here you are tellimg us something different. Also, where will it be easier to change the entire concept? In economics or photography? As to calling a macro shot as a micro shot will be easier to change or calling a micro economics as macro will be easier?
Me: Blah blah blah. (Convinced them with my answer)
P1: Who is the LT. Governor of Delhi?
(I just couldn't remember the name. BTW he is Anil Baijal)
Now comes the difficult part! 'Geography of Kerela' and shots were fired.
P1: Which is the southern most point of India? Indira Point.
Where is it? Tamil Nadu
Name the Indian state which has two capitals. J&K
(Couldn't answer any of them)
P2; What is there to show that it is the end of Indian territory.
Me: (Thanking my mother for the kerela trip) Sir, there is a red flag
P1: Why the flag is red?
Me: Sir, to tell people that it is advisable not to go beyond this point as there is deep ocean ahead.
P2: Is it there to signify danger and how big is the flag.
Sir: Yes sir, the red flag is there to signify danger and the flag is about 7-8 feet high and a wooden stick attached to it.
P1 and P2 looked at each other and ended the interview. After this I was asked to leave. In total, the interview lasted for 19 minutes and 47 seconds :p
