Its given that 3 pipes have rates of filling or emptying a tank as 1:2:3. Largest pipe can fill in 3hrs. So my doubt is, if I take rate as the percentage of tank filled in unit time, I get time taken by individual tanks as, 9,4.5 and 3. But if I take rate as per the number of hours taken to fill tank, I get the hours taken as 3,6,9. Which would be the correct approach?
