SCJP....is just a stepping stone to enter into other higher level certifications of Java...checkout...sun's website

If you want to take up the Java Platform, then surely SCJP is the fiirst Step.

Sun and other Industry certifications help build credibility among employers and clients...

You got to go up with other higher certifications coz nowadays every Tom D and Harry is SCJP

Take Your Shot!

I want to specialize in Business Analytics and Decision(Management) Science. Can anyone tell me about any certification which I can take in this field before going for my MBA?

Hi all,
I have been working as s/w developer for 2.5 years. I am going to do PGDM-DSF(Development and Sustainable Finance) in IFMR as I am interested in the course contents and planning to get into microfinance.Though I find the course and the field promising, I am also aware that it is a very niche and specific course. So to be on safer side, I would like to do some finance certifications so that even If I am not able to get a job in microfinance I might land up in a good finance profile.I find a lot of certifications like cfa, ncfm etc. It would be great if anyone can please suggest me gud finance certification/any other things to do that will add value to my profile and make me a suitable candidate for finance profile.

hi,
since you have already decided the sectors where you want to make your career, the sectors you mentioned have tremendous scope in terms of growth as well as it will provide you a good opportunity to learn.

i am myself an MBA student and pursuing a CPIM course from APICS.APICS offers a number of certifications on different aspects of supply chain.
lets say that if you want to enter into manufacturing sector then CPIM is the best certification to got for.it will give you an in depth knowledge of materials management, master production and scheduling, strategic management of resources and like wise.

while if you plan to enter into FMCG or RETAIL then there are other aspects of supply chain which comes into play such as logistics, transportation, procurement, demand management etc.

you can go through the website of Apics and you will find the wide array of certis they are offering ,do a little bit of research and then find out which one suits best for you.
some of the hot certifications they offer are CIRM,PML and CSCP.though CSCP is the most killer certification till date as it offers "holistic perspective " towards supply chain, but you need to have "relevant" experience in that field for 2 years.if you are experienced then i'd suggest go for CSCP else you may choose one of those courses now.

let me know if i can help you in any way,
