@[225093:motocheck01] - TVM ? How much required in equity ?

for equity u dont need TVM.. but for corp finance u need it..

guys cleared level one last year.. pls feel free to shoot questions.. I know that first and foremost question that every student wants an answer to is to understand if he needs to study from cfa books or notes. My answer to this is ... Pick up a LOS. Read from notes. If you are able to understand it great move ahead.. if not pick up CFA book and just read related topic(s). Hope this helps

Regarding Standard II-A, Material Non-Public Information: which of the following statements is (are) true with respect to the "traditional theory" of determining whether securities laws have been violated?

I. Securities fraud will have been committed only if the individual trading on material nonpublic information had a fiduciary duty towards the company whose shares are being traded.
II. An individual, who does not have a fiduciary duty towards either the acquiring company or the target company, may trade in the shares of the two companies while knowing of an outstanding tender offer.
III. A violation may have been committed by an analyst if through piecing together of all publicly available information, a conclusion is reached that is later found to have been true, material and nonpubli
c at the time of the conclusion.
IV. Persons who were in possession of inside information may begin to trade in the affected securities as soon as this inside information is made public.

(a) I, II and IV only
(b) I, II, III and IV
(c) I only
(d) II and IV only

Is it possible to mention somewhere that one is a CFA candidate? PS: myself a CFA level 2 candidate and CAT aspirant
yeah its possible and that too where it matters the most.....i.e in the PI itself you can mention that in a tricky way when asked questions like "what are you doing at present?" mention cfa alongwith the job you are on ..... btw whats your background i mean ur major? and which year pass out?? r u also appearing for cat this yr?

Pls have a good grasp on TVM. You will use it throughout CFA course. It has application in derivatives (Indirectly), fixed income, Equity and many more. pls spend enough time to understand this topic.

CFA book champ :)

@[400982:sanjaysurana90] - oh i doing from scswer

Whichever u like... CFA book has it in detail.

k yaar i will try to work on calculations also

TVM and Financial Math is very imp for any later topics like FI, Corp Fin, Der etc.

Best that you target from Curriculum, but if time is the constraint then Schweser is the way to go.

Leo u mean practise questions from CFA books.
I have just started with corporate finance. So please advice
