hey guys does anybody here doing CFA with a graduation from IGNOU (Indra gandhi national open university) its a correspondence graduation course.. are we eligible to do level 1 with this sort of graduation...

Is this US CFA or Indian CFA that we are talking about here. I am really new to this. Can anybody please explain me the difference between Indian and US one and which one is better to do. Also I am not able to find schwefer level 1 books part 2, can someone mail me that ebook.

This thread is devoted to the CFA US only! It is a chartered awareded by the US body formerly known as AIMR..its recognized globally..
while Indian CFA is awarded by ICFAI(u must have heard of ICFAI)...not worth mentioning that the CFA US holds much more value....

1)if i plan to give level 1 in dec 2013 ..wen do i need to register and how much will it cost ..
2)can i give these exams while i am persuing my MBA....
3)is it a must that a person pursuing CFA should hav a finance background..
I am a mechanical engineer now about to start my MBA in energy nd environment this june ....
is there a problem or lack of opportunity having this background and doin an MBA in a specific feild ...if i pursue CFA .....
how difficult it is if i am completely new to this?..

How much time does it usually take to cover the portions for L1? 
A rough estimate would suffice. I have an MBA admit this year, so need to plan accordingly.

Hey Puys I am an IT engineer with 5.5 years of work ex and I intend to go in for the CFA level1 exam in Dec'13. I have been working for an IT firm in Delhi with an investment bank as a client from the past 2.5 years. Wanted to go in for CFA to enrich my knowlege in the Finance/Investment domain in particular. I was going thorugh the official CFA website and could see that the fee structure also includes the print and the e learning study material along with the examination fee. How's this study material provided by the examination body. Is it way too extensive and elaborate for a newbie to comprehend?
Sorry but what's this "Schweser" study material. Is it a sort of a concise guide for the CFA exam? What options do we have with regards to the coaching classes available for the CFA Level 1 Exam in Delhi. Is it feasible for a working professional to attend these classes? If yes can you please suggest some and if possible let me know the cost for the same?
