Are there any entry level jobs for CFA level 1 guys?

I am new to this thread. I want to know about cfa examination , what are the opportunities after that ?
How to prepare for the exam and when it will be held?
I am having prior 2.5 year experience in IT field and around 6 months of experience in banking industry so how the exam will be helpful for my career prospects? Kindly post your helpful comments.
