in my knowledge no dept in the country will do as much work as postal dept
very less staff strength but huge workload
dont think that postal dept only do delivery work
it does

1.savings
2.pli/rpli insurance type of work
3.collection of bsnl bills
4.collection of electricity bills
5.sometimes u ll have to sell tokens for fireworks (diwali season)

mix of works

evolution of couriers spoiled the future of postal dept

also when u say that u work in post office
u ll feel the embarrassment
