no, its different........an attestation form will be sent to you. u ll need to get a character verification from DC/DM or city magistrate. you will need character certificates from 2 authorized/gazzetted officers, when u ll submit those to the DC/DM office , they will send a verification to the 2 issuing authorities and on getting a positive verification your character will be endorsed on the Attestation form.

ok..but we were done with this process way back..right?...it was submitted at the time of interview..are we supposed to go through it again..doesn't make sense

try to recall if it was attested by your Distt. autorities at that time?
well i won't say if this is a waste, as after working in govt. system one realises that how much links are important for establishing someone's identity.
