@secretworld Bro plz let me know that if anyone get selected for an Assistant in CSS then in aprox hw many years 1 gets promoted to UnderSecretary.. Also plz share any other Info you got from ur frnd in that Dept.. Ur Info is damn imp for me as I am facing dilemma regarding CPT.

Asst css reains generally in delhi very rare outside posting. As told by a US to me if u clear exam after 5 years i.e. of SO u wud start getting salary of SO from the day u clear that exam, after 4 years u wud be upgraded to grade 1 i.e. 15600+5400 grade then after 4-5 years u can become US gp 6600
this means if u clear exam u get to be a US in 14 years while by seniority it would be in 19-20 years. in any case u gt to become a director

Ur Info suggest that 1 can becum US in 15 yrs if 1 clear a departmental exam .. whereas going thru some previous post it seems that Inp (excise) gets only 1 promotion in his entire career .. (first of all thats very insane of any dept) .. boss My marks are 376 and my preference are such that if i quit cpt in all prob Ill land up in Excise as I filled nearly all states as my preference .. So looking upon the future prospects in both the post I guess I must attend CPT 2morrow .. whats ur view ..

mine are 411 case same as urs. SO is section officer.And the post we get thru CGl assistant actually means assistant section officer. excise me haal bahut bura hai bhai.No promotion, the only reason ppl join it is for either extra income or to satisfy their ego/desire etc. Except for certain states excise me aur burei haalat hai n with this much vacancy every year and internal promotions everybody in excise is inspector now.
It depends on person to person. Aur excise me there would be frequent transfers in ur commissionerate only but still its a trouble to get transferred every 3-4 years.
ANyways was thinking of leaving cpt as thought may be this much marks r gud for excise delhi, but nw going for cpt. Rest is ur will
1. i intend to stay in delhi.. so if i clear the CPT and have filled the post for CSS after ITI, examiner , excise and PO will i be considered for CSS first or afterwards?
2. In CPT what documents i require? do i need to get them attested and
3. Also what is there in CPT test? i am from an IT background so do i need to focus on anything particular? what happens in Excel and Power Point test?
this is my first time so dont have any idea about all these things..
