CGL 2012 Tier 2 Preparations and Results

Hi guys..had my CPT today..will let u know of al d details..and experts here..plz let me know CSS k kya chances hain..or in other case..kisi aur post k bhi..My category is UR.

My marks as of now: 363.5

Reporting Time: 9.30 a.m

Venue: Vemana Institute of Technology, Koramangla, Blore

I reached there by 9.25 or so. No person at the reception... Saw the board of Library and Information Centre leading to the basement.So, went there but nothing about CPT there. The Librarian sent me to 2nd floor. Fortunately, there was a lift..:D..So, went to 2nd floor and looked around. Some college exam was going on. So, I called a teacher out and asked her to let me know where the CPT was being held. She said she is not sure but I can chek on the 4th floor. So, I went to 4th floor. There I saw from a distance an A4 sheet on a wall saying CPT/DEST centre. Followed the arrow and reached the hall. The person there asked me about my batch and knowing that, sent me again to first floor to wait in the Reporting Room. haahh.. I expected that they would have asked people to wait because the previous batch's CPT must be going on. Anyways, waited till 10 and then, one person came to call all the candidates to the 4th Floor..;)

Doc Verification :

I was the first one to be called for doc verification by a lady. 3 people were there for the process each handling one person at a time. I was asked to give 3 copies of attestation form (filled by me and signed by gazetted officer) and then she asked me provide the photocopies of educational documents. I had both self-attested and signed by gazetted officer copies (2 sets each). She asked to give those that were signed by gazetted officer. Then, she verified my 10th certi for DOB and Degree certi. No one asked me to provide any photographs. Then, when my docs were verified, I was called by another person for signature (For attendance and that all docs are correct). Then started the actual waiting time.

CPT:

It started at around 12.15 and proceeded till 2. The instructor was very nice and informed about the whole process very patiently.

1. Typing test

The software for Typing Test was open on my system and I was instructed to write my roll no. and press enter. The next screen showed ur credentials and we were asked to verify them. Then, they gave a sheet of trial passage to each candidate. There was a timer on top right hand side of the screen of 2 min and u have to type the passage for practice. After that, they ll take the trial passage sheets from u and provide the Actual passage sheets. Remember, not to click the "Start Actual Test/Passage" button before they provide u the actual sheets. The Actual Passage was of 2000 key depressions and I typed it in 10-11 min with 4 min 12 sec left for checking. I had done 2 spelling mistakes which I corrected and then, test was Auto-saved after 15 min got over. One invigilator came to give the print command from my system and also, saved my passage in their local system. The printout was then handed over to me to put down my signature and date.

PS: No mistake in Typing Test. I am an average chatter.

2. Excel sheet Test

MS Excel 2007 is used for the test as you might already be aware of. Had to type name and roll no on the upper left hand of the sheet. The data about population of different cities in 2 diff years was given and we had to calculate the absolute diff and percentage change in the population in these two years. Also, the sum of population of all the cities in these two years had to be calculated. There was some formatting also to be done like setting the font as Arial, font size, making title bold, underline etc. I did a few mistakes there

a) Misspelled "Increase" :(..wrote "increse instead. saw it in the printout they gave later for sign and date.

b) I had to draw a solid border for the data and for the data above, had to draw a dotted border. So, the common line between these two was missed and it showed a blank on the printout.. 😞 (Silly me...:@)

c) The numbers to be typed had different format and I didnt know how to use it. Like the no 4343467 had to be written as 43,43,467 and the sum formula worked without the commas. So, I deleted the commas. How many marks would be deducted for this.

Rest all calculations, font, color filling in output boxes was correct. Evaluate my performance based on this.

PS: manual time keeping for excel and powerpoint.

3. Powerpoint

Isko to mast fod dia Typing Test k jaise. Aisa ppt pehle b aa chuka h. same flowchart, Bulb thk se jalega ya ni, uska data tha. Agar, ap apna name type ni kar pa re h footer me to Insert Text Box karke daal do. Font size aur font konsa use karna h wo bata rakha hoga. Border rectangle Compound Type - Double Line ka tha..2.25 pt width ka. Ye sab chize sheet me mentioned thi.

PS: This one went perfect.

Heya..

I was told that I don't need to bring any docs again which I have submitted today. Just the bio-data form and all required for interview have to be taken. No attestation form again.

And one more thing. Excel aur PPt me header dalne ko likha tha ques sheet pe..lekin instructor ne sabko mana kar dia k header ki zarurat ni h.. jo checker hoge use ye convey nahi kia gaya to marks to ni kat jaenge??

Had almost the same kind of CPT, can anyone confirm if swii can make it, bcuz if she will, so will I.. :)
@secretworld exactly..... cos of their foolish advice, i need to beg and also pay gazetted officer to get again 2 copies of documents...for int

Appeared for the DEST today, just finished typing in time..with 4-5 Half-Mistakes ..(wHich, eeasy, etc)..till what extent these mistakes are tolerated ?

u hv to sign across photo with half on pic n half on form paper

@Swii - In the typing test the 2000 key depression includes space key depression means space is counted in 2000 key or not
