Friends, I have a doubt.... Kindly help me by giving thoughtful advice:

@Aanchal9431 said:Friends, I have a doubt.... Kindly help me by giving thoughtful advice:I have secured 363 marks(Tier 1+2)....... I appeared for CPT at Kolkata but it was disaster, so no chance for CSS...... My choices of posts in order are : CSS, Inspector of Post, Insp. Central Excise, Auditor(here I have included only those posts I am likely to get)State preference: Delhi, Jharkhand, Bihar, UP....................TN, Kerala, etc(all states)Now there are three chances:Case1) If I perform well in interview(60+), I will get Inspector of post in Jharkhand (Unfortunately I had given priority to Insp. of Post above Excise).Case2) If I perform average in interview (45-55)..... I will get Central Excise in any remote state(most probably southern like TN, Kerala or Andaman)...... In my opinion cut off of Excise will go as low as 405...bcoz of 2000+ vacancies, lesser candidates compared to last year and lower tier 2 cut off marks..Case3) If I perform extremely poor (As others, I also aspire to prepare and appear for UPSC at Delhi. But at the same time I am equally comfortable with Insp. of Post at Jharkhand bcoz my father works there. The problem comes here:Should I try risking getting Insp. of Post at Jharkhand? Bcoz if I get less marks in interview I will get excise and will have to go to south. Both purposes defeated(family at Jharkhand or UPSC prep. at Delhi)OR Do you all think that I should leave interview to get Auditor at Delhi for sure? Which is better between the two .......... Auditor at Delhi or Insp. of Post at Jharkhand..... I have heard that Insp. of Post is the worst post offered by SSC CGL........Is it wise for me to go for interview and opt for Excise anywhere in India???(If I get it? case2)PLEASE ADVICEI need them....... honestly speaking.............
@secretworld said:If u want auditor u don't need to even attend the int. Anyways had I been in ur place I would have chosen not to attend the int. and get Auditor at delhi, reason being I would get Just a mere 300-400 extra if I am at jharkhand as Insp of post while at delhi I would get nearly same salary because of higher HRA and TA. Also I am getting prep facility at delhi. SO thats my view, moreover auditor in long run is much better and even if I fail at UPSC I have a gud track rather than in inspector of posts. Hope it helps. This is a logical advice though, not emotional u knw being with family thing

anyone here knows the nature of work of excise inspector
mny ppl are predicting that excise post cut off may even cme to 410...true???
1. i have partial colour blindness (can read 7,8 plates out of 14)...is colour blindness too strict a parameter for excise inspector? and...what about income tax inspector? (so that i can try for it next year).
2. if i give interview i ll most probably get excise inspector as i have filled around 10 states(will most likely get some south state) and if i skip the interview i ll get auditor in delhi..comparing both posts which has a better future?
3. what about transfer prospects in excise..in how many years at the earliest can i be transferred to delhi if i join?
4. what are the chances of bypassing the medical examination? is it done by the department or are the departmental officers present in hospital during checkup or is it done just by the hospital staff? it is too risky or can be easily bypassed?

all of those who are done with their DEST ...attendance percentage kaisa tha...how many appeared for doc. verification in your batch ...?? this is of not much importance for IP and NIP selected candidates ..yet it plays a very crucial role for those who only got selected for TA ...in my attendance was 13 out of 35 ...
