Gave the interview in Chandigarh.
Ours was the last batch of NWR hence only we were to give interview.About 12-13 students.I guess panel changes everyday and got to say can't predict abt marks but the panel was very supportive.
Started with lots of nervous energies.Panel head enquired abt my father's occupation and my location.(No question). Then asked abt what all is happening in Delhi. So gave the answer and I was kinda giving elaborate answer and after listening he politely said you should keep your answer concise, you are young so should know how to go about telling an answer.Like bad governance et al.It was just like some elder giving valuable suggestions.
After that another polite member(lady) asked some very basic phy,che questions as she was from Che deptt. Not able to give answers and then she asked which part of science you know.I told her I had no interest in phy,che and just did the passing thing. Her 1st question was how computer has changed the lives? Pretty simple atleast for a comp grad but nervousness didn't helped at all.I myself wasn't satisfied with my answer. Then she asked the other member to ask questions.
His were basic GK question- about FDI,SAARC,BRICS..which I almost gave full answers barring 1 or 2 short cross questions.
It may have lasted about 10-15 minutes and in that too the head talked for 2-3 minutes easily just discussing the Delhi incident.
Having given so many practicals during graduation,I can sense it was sort of that 'mercy panel' that doesn't treat candidates as candidates but just like their children or the future gen about to take an imp step in their life.
I was the second one to go in and the first one also had similar kind of experience.
381 in tests + 'mercy marks'----I guess I m In for CSS,my 1st pref.
Maine interview ke chakkar mai Mahabharat ki story bhi padh daali, being from Haryana.
@Y.Saharan Bhot badhia Desii.. Sahi chaal ri se gaadi. Itne numbaran me aaraam te gaadi CSS me laag jaagi !!

@rattle it depends on what you are doing now, if you are a fresh graduate or a graduate without any work-ex they will certainly ask you questions reagarding your subjects. skim through the current affairs, basic economics and banking terms, job profiles of various posts and departments. be ready to justify what you are doing and what you want to do. simple questions relating to your hobby/interests. prepare any 1 topic/subject from your graduation well like java or data structures or microprocessors and so on.

I completed my M.Tech. in August 2011. But i joined a college in Jan. 2011 because in 4th sem. we need to submit thesis and no theory subjects.
Since then i m in the same college. Should i write about my teaching experience or not????
I m Confused..........
@Y. Saharan- hw was ur cpt? if the typed passage is error free and minor mistakes of header footer in excel ppt.. can we be sure of clearing cpt?
@anshitagupta Not really sure.It was my 1st attempt and I guess yours also.So not really sure about the evaluation of CPT.Mine also went quite similar to yours. But there are many people who did messed up their CPT.So going by the gut feeling,it would be enough to get through.
ok.. same here.. acc to others experience.. its said tht passage matters the most.. rest its fine if excel nd ppt r average.. coz its jst required to qualify, not to top in cpt...
Y.Saharan- you did engg? wht technicl ques wr asked?
@trvg said:sorry for late sharing but somehow pg hangs after making any post.My interview was on 21.12.2012 8.30 am at chandigarh. Panel-1 (there were two panels with 15 students each). One chairman in the centre, around 60 and very knowledgeable. Two females on either side, one of them around 50 (W1) other one around 40 (W2). i tried talking in english in the beginning but they were only using hindi so shifted to it.I am BE electrical passed in 2007, did a few jobs and have been teaching at MBA coaching inst for ~ 3 years.I was confident and took it very lightly. Didnt do any preparation. it started well but went down so badly. cant believe i messed it up so bad.greeted them and was asked to sit down.chair- general ques about what i have done since i passed out of college. had a job in finance once so he asked a lot of questions about futures, derivatives, sub-prime crisis etc. answered about 80% of it. then some general questions (somehow i dont remember any of them) .then chair asked after doing engg. you went into finance then teaching and now SSC?? said always wanted to be an engg since i was a child but after getting into engg i had no interest in it. didnt like finance much and finally settled into teaching which i found very satisfying. chair- why am i shifting from teaching to this (he told me both the females were teachers) . i said for one it gets repetitive (W1 objected and said everyday is a new challenge etc...) had to agree and said main reason better personal prospects and serving the nation.....interview was going fine till this point, i was conversing freely and the atmosphere was quite pleasant.then chairman pointed to W1 and said maam will like to ask you about your subject.W1 started asking question upon question and i kept saying dont know to each of them!!! (this was after having declared that i had no interest in engg!!) she said okay ill ask something basic from electrical engg - explain how a distribution system works. i gave a basic idea from what i remembered but she wanted specifics!i said i didnt have any interest in engg and its been a long time. she said you have done your engg from one of the reputed colleges of the region and i expected better from you.she then said " achcha ye to pata hoga xxxxxxx......" and i was thoroughly embarrassed to say no! finally she gave up and left it to chairman.by this time i had lost my mind and if asked might not have been able to write my own name!chairman started reading my hobbies.. visiting hill stations.. what all have you visited? answered nearby places where i had been.. chair- tell me a hill station in rajasthan. me- thinking for about 10 sec... i still couldnt remember the name... they said mount abu!! chair- tell me one in central india.. me- no answer.. chair- is there any in madhya pradesh?? me - i dont know. everyone sensed that i had lost my mind! chair- please ask what you want maam (W2).W2- sir and maam have already asked a lot ill just ask two small questions.... first who is the finance minister of india? me- i was so shaken up and dissappointed that it really took me 5 sec to remember and say P chidambaram! (my first answer after what seemed like an eternity)W2- okay who is the home minister? me- instantly said- shivraj patil ! everyone exclaimed and chairman said WHO??? i took some time to think and could only manage to say " shinde, i dont remember the full name" chair- its sushil kumar shinde.. thank you, you may go..when i got up i could see a piece of paper in front of chairman and he was giving marks in 5-6 columns (probably parameters like confidence, knowledge etc..) but had to leave before i could see anything clearly. So this was it. all thoughts are welcome.
I was sure that it would be me who would be typing such interview experience, but you did it first. Ayways still I am sure you would get 40+ and with ur written marks taken into account you still will get ur first option. Will post mine on 31/12 last day of this year. Haven't prepared for it till now

Kindly note For all the fresh Btech graduates(specially from GBTU):
My interview was on 24/12/12 central region allahabad.I am a B.tech (CS) ,graduated this year itself(2012).During the verification of my documents, when they checked my final year marksheet there was no date of issue written on it.If you are a GBTU student u ll notice that "printed on:xxxxxxx" is written on the bottom corner. But that date is usually of september or october, and according to SSC office you must be a graduate before a specific date(maybe of august).I had a provisional degree but it was also issued in november. So they were going to cancel my candidature.I talked to the regional director there and he took a signed undertaking from me stating that i will submit a proof of my graduation date within 3 days of my interview date and allowed me for interview. So if you want to avoid a similar scene you must take with you a print out of your final year result published on the uptu website(It shows the date of result 27th june) duly attested by the director of your college, else you might face trouble.

im used to having a bit of a rough patch in interviews regarding my graduation subjects but this was something unimaginable. I always declare that i had no interest in engg. and interviewers usually dont poke too deep after that, but this female really did everything possible to get to my nerves.
ill advise you to brush up atleast something about your graduation lest you find such a person in your panel. Best of luck for your interview on the last day of the year.
are u shore examiner ,ITI don't allow persons with colourblindness.
so could u plz tell me which department is allowed these persons?
@jobseeker2012
