just to clear some confusion
examiner, po, and excise are all branches of same department CBEC
in coastal/port cities they are demarcated and in other cities there is a single department

but you know that they check stuff going in and out of ports so if u r negligent u can get really screwed as the stuff may be drugs, weapons and what not so there is greater risk.
both jobs have uniform but excise ppl rarely wear it so................u chose
po is in coastal cities while excise is everywhere..................again u choose
po has faster promotions than excise so again po is better
hence po>excise

bcoz this is not our final job
we all want to go for upsc and best coaching is in delhi
and upar ki kamai is getting less by the day and everybody wants to hang the officer(nobody says anything against the one who gives bribes or the politicos who created this atmosphere) and i don't want to become a scapegoat
u and me will be small fish and we have to careful of the crocodiles in the system

@akk234 yaar i agree to what u said ,but to be honest i dont have that calibre to get through upsc ,yes i can improve my score next time so thats for sure .Moreover i m desperately looking for a job this year only ...as we all know competition in ssc is increasing fast day by due to a lot of cat aspirants , bank pos , previous year selected ones looking 4 home psting , recently btech n mba candidate entry has made it tougher for a average person . "a bird in hand is better than the two hidden in bush " hope u can understand .

but the good thing is it gives prev yrs qsn chapter wise and is fully solved ( solution is not good though)
