@rattle sir punjab irrigation JE lives like EXECUTIVE ENGINEERS... they get promoted to SDo or oversear though sometime at the end of their career but they earns like anything.. i lived for 22 years in CANAL COLONY MYSELF i think there is no reason u should leave the job if u are posted in ur desired location as JEE... u will always earn more

CSS----- Assistant--- SO------So grade 1 -------Undersecretary---------Deputy secretary------Director------Joint sectty (very few ppl, but cadre restructuring happens in every 7-8 years so by the time u reach director u can xpect promotions to be more, ppl have reached additional sectty too), never expect above JS though
IT------- ITI---------ITO------------AC--------------DC--------------JC (only few zones and ppl who join ard at 22-23 years)
CSS is not a feeder cadre like IT. IRS come directly in IT but in CSS ppl can come only thru SSC so its a plus as ppl wud be frm same level, only few deputation based IAS and ppl above director level

excise ya po mile tab bhi ..no bro , agar executive engg ho tab toh u turn le sakta tha , yahaan promotion slow he aur agar lena hai to bahraich , motipur , jirgapuri bhejte hai ..jo ek jungle hai
@rattle jE ko promotions nahi miltin actually kabhi kabhi JE hi retire ho jataen haen... agar home state mein PO yaan examiner mile toh then think.. excise personally i believe not that a gem.SDOr toh promote ho hijata hae JE bhi 20 years tak like superindent in excise.punjab mein irrigation ko bahut funds aataen haen..
@rattle more assistant commissioner and deputy commissioner during the end years have blue beacon also... so 6-8 years of ur end serive u can enjoy blue beacon

@micky1988 bro assitant commissioner has blue beacon + indigo + white colour.. morover IRS officers also get blue beacon when posted as assist comm.. dun wurry.
